I'm learning to play this song. Underlying rhythm guitar is fairly simple and straightforward. But as with most Petty songs it's the layering of the instruments. There are 3 guitar parts. I've always enjoyed Mike Campbell's solos. Add harmonica and organ...great song. + Petty lyrics.
