I am 62, grew up on this music and I love everything Tom Petty ever did. I like to take a day off, now and then, smoke a bowl and start the day with this song! Takes me back to when life was better, and things weren't so fuzzy around here.

As I sit with a bowl currently in my hand, I can't help but to completely agree Brother ✌️

64 here, weekend mornings i get up, grab my coffee and stroll down back to sit with the wife in our garden area, smoke a bowl, and listen to the birds and chickens... i take my JBL portable linked to my phone and jam Swingin, Into the great Wide Open, and other Petty songs like that... very serene and relaxing.. then it's onto the wife's honey do list...lol that calls for You Wreck Me and Refugee... have a good one..

Lead guitarist underrated, really drove this band with such tasteful solos, no wasted notes.

I think this is Tom's best song- Musically it is very simple- 3 chords- but lyrically and melodically it is brilliant!

It has an ebb and flow about it. For me it’s next to impossible to pick a fav of theirs, but this is a candidate

@@jebarr1 I think Tom liked it a lot as it was nearly always played at TP&THB concerts.

Always a pleasure to listen to Tom Petty pop up on KZbin. Back in the day he saved us from drowning in schlock rock, disco, and pop. Forever grateful.

I can’t say enough good things about this song and this performance. It may be my favorite TPHB song because of its feel, angst, and drama. Not to overstate it I hope. The one drawback of this video is that it missed some significant guitar that Tom was playing. There were times that Mike was the focus but other guitar sounds could be heard that were fundamental to the song. Don’t get me wrong-Mike Campbell is a brilliant guitarist but Tom could play really well. Unfortunately the video can’t be changed.
