Ha! look at you, trying to judge Petty albums by the commercial success of them! Some care more about the quality of music than the units sold. As for Lynn. He's a master, I admit it. However Petty did his thing huge in the States long before Lynn or the Wilbury's. So instead of saying who Petty can thank, why dont you give him a BIG THANK YOU for even releasing his music in Europe. Oh and check out Wildflowers... produced by Rick Rubin.

Tom Petty can say a BIG "THANK YOU" to the master, because I can tell you that without Jeff Lynne he wouldn't be even known in Europe. The records Jeff Lynne produced and also wrote for Tom sold well in Europe, but the rest terribly flopped. Petty is not a great componist, without Lynne and the Wilburies, he would be Mister Nobody!!! Sorry... Even the Last DJ, the song, is inspired by Jeff's production. But Jeff did nothing, so it flopped dramatically Higway Companion is good and made by??
