I just moved to Oslo, alone, 3 weeks ago so this one hit a bit different. I am walking through Oslo with everything in my brain, stressing over the move and the paperwork and how will I make friends and how do I deal with how badly I miss everyone back home. Exactly a year ago today I moved to Oslo. 2 weeks later my Norwegian girlfriend of 3 years broke up with me. Although our relationship hadn't been perfect for a while - I felt devastated. I found myself in new country completely and utterly alone. The first few months we're not easy. Today, I am so happy. Although the love between my ex and I is gone, I have fallen hopelessly in love with Oslo and my life here. I love my job, my chosen family and have made amazing friends. I want to stay here forever and I feel like being in this new city has breathed life into me again. Being "lonely again" healed me. The line "I don't think you'll miss me and that is alright" felt extremely personal - She and I are better off apart and that is ok. I've paved my own way without her and it is better that way. This song could not have come at a more perfect time or have been about a more beautiful city to me. Thank you.

I really can't thank you enough for how your music makes me feel. I'm someone who, by the usual societal standards, should be "lonely" - I'm aromantic and probably autistic, so the forms of fulfilment I seek aren't what I can find in most of the romance-obsessed, party-obsessed popular music out there. There is something so human about Tom's music and the videos that come along with them.
