Awsome song, makes it me cry every time, about the hopelessness and the dispare of a man looking for love with anyone, anywhere to relieve his pain.

@@AliciaGodinez-v2u Tom Waits is one of the best singers alive. Listen to his early works just to compare the variety of voices he can bring forth. Only a dolt would question his talent.

Classic Waits, thanks for postng this live. I saw him perform this many times and so good to see it again. One of Waits great early songs. Thanks

Magnificent. I remember hearing him for the first time in the mid 70's in the UK, and he was such a mesmerizing change from disco which dominated the scene at the time. The true test of an artist is how his music stands up to the passage of time. Tom Waits is the only artist I know whos music has improved or matured with age. He really is such a unique talent. ❤

Wonderful lyrics, I haven't forgotten a word in 40+ years, in spite of the amnesia.

One of my favorites. This song tells a deep and moving story of a soul that finds itself alone and abandoned. Yet, their is an innocent sweetness about it. Only Tom Waits could deliver it so convincingly, that's the genious of this performance,... heartfelt and believeable.

The music isn’t there now to justify making a program like that, in fact music now is pretty shit, imo. We were spoiled in the 70’s.
