To this day, the show at the Fox theatre in Atlanta was the greatest concert I've ever seen. Nothing else comes anywhere close. It was straight up magical. Everybody wandered out of the place in a bewitched daze. Whenever I meet someone else who was there, it's almost like we're reminiscing over an ancient ritual that we both once witnessed. I'd give anything to see him again.

I was first exposed to Tom Waits in 1986. I was in a huge transitional phase in my life. From that point on, Tom wrote the sound track of my life. He led me on a tour of my past and sprinkled magic dust on my future. I can't thank him enough.

I got a phone call from a record company in 2008. Someone told me they heard I would be interested in seeing Tom Waits in a small theatre in Antwerp that had been sold out in literally seconds on line. I had seen him years before in the Olympia in Paris, but this experience, seeing Tom arriving with his son in the afternoon behind the theatre and the concert at night where he clearly felt like a preacher before his congregation, was over and beyond. Thanks for posting!

His voice❤ I was very late to the Tom Waits Train™, really discovering him by way of his Orphans triple-disc release, absolutely loving 97% of it. Rain Dogs and Blue Valentine soon followed, then Mule Variations and I slowly acquired the entirety of his back catalogue, sans some compilations, live releases (though I, of course, got Nighthawks At The Diner❤), and a few more obscure releases. Sadly, this turned out to be what will very likely prove to be Waits’s final tour, and I soon learned how close I was to catching him in concert! Also, sort of off context: WTF are there ads on this video?!!!!
