This was the first Tom Waits video I ever saw,and the sense of melancholy it makes me feel is still there after what must be almost 30 years years later.

This was the first Tom Waits song I ever heard, thanks to an excellent music show on a channel which had not long begun broadcasting. I've never looked back since then, and have seen him play twice, Amazing artist, and absolutely unique.

This was the first thing I ever heard and saw of Tom Waits. It was shown on Channel 4 'The Tube' way back when and I was instantly hooked on the music and drawn into his weirdly beautiful world. In the Neighbourhood still moves me to this day. This is the song I want to go out to.

I saw this when I was about 12 on a thing called "Preview" at my wealthier friends house. They also played the Residents' incredible "One Minute Movies", as filler. No one else was really making music videos, so they just showed crazy content and we thought we were so cool buying these records. Cemented my tastes forever-how old does he sound as a babe? Does anyone remember Preview?

Waits videos never have much in them save for "Big Time" or "Private Listening Party". This video is dull but Tom is a gem musically. The budget on this had to be under $1000.00!

I'm pretty sure I saw this video reviewed on "Saturday Superstore" (hard to believe) and it was my introduction to Mr Waits. Unfortunately the only source of alternative music at the time was John Peel who wasn't a fan or Tom, saying he was too derivative of captain beefheart I think.
