you know they wanted him to reprise the Superman role in the CW-verse shows but he said. "I cant actually wear the suit. Its in my contract. No cape. No tights. No flight." Its why in the Smallville finale they had to CGI him in the suit. He flat out refused to wear it. Then on Crisis on Infinite Earths he's like "Sure i'll play Clark Kent... but I wont wear the suit. Deal with it."

@@stupidhandles I don’t think there’s any issue with having your achievements in your home. If he was a recording artist , if he was an athlete, etc…he might have some trophies/ awards. He does podcasting and has some of the memorabilia of what he’s famous for in the background. I don’t think it makes him egotistical to have memories from his profession. Christian bale talked about it. It was a hot day. They had been filming for like 13 hours. Everyone on set was hot, tired and pissed off and the director kept going let’s just try one more time. And he snapped. He said like an hour later he called the guy and apologized. He said the director was like okay let’s just wrap for the day. And the take used on screen was one they had done like 3 hours prior.

@@amandao.8043completely several cast members have talked about it. No one on set is like oh he’s a flicking a$$hol€. The consensus from cast and crew was it was a hot day everyone’s tempers were flaring and he popped when someone screwed up a shot. Most people were more pissed at the director and even the director has said that he was probably responsible for it because he just kept asking for another take because the dailies sent to the studio had come back that morning and the studio executives had been riding him about things they perceived he was doing wrong and so he was over compensating. So basically everyone was having issues. And someone having a temper flair was the result.

I love watching stuff like this from you guys. I've been a fan, and still watch Smallvile to this day since 2003, and It's so surreal to hear from actors we love talk about these challenges and times where you're stressed and have moments like this on or off set. We're all human and any time a well known actor/actress has a stressful moment recorded and released to the public, everyone makes a big deal about it like it's abnormal. Anyway, I thought this was cool how Tom took ownership of the situation, learned from it, talked about it live, and doesn't make excuses.

It hits different when you hear yourself or see yourself from another view. I used to chew gum on stage when my band played to keep my throat from getting dry for singing. I didn’t feel like I was really chewing much just sort of having it in my cheek but then I saw a video and I am just chomping the crap out of it 100 mph and it looked so horrible and unprofessional and I stopped that very day … I realize it’s not coke but still seeing it objectively was eye opening

How many times do we judge someone for a rage out video online? That's like that person's worst moment. And the whole internet treats them like that's how they are every second of every day. I treated some guys at the hardware store like crap a few years back, and I actually went back and talked to the guys and said I was sorry for it. Middle of a project, hungry, stressed, and I took it out on them. The guys were cool about it, but I still look back at my behavior with a lot of shame. We should all be a lot less judgemental when these freakouts appear. Everybody has their moments, but most of us are lucky enough that it doesn't hit the internet.

I was 19 in LA as an up and coming actor, and when i saw Michael at the Arclight after a screening of "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" I was so happy. I LOVED Smallville, and I couldn't believe me a small town farm boy from Canada, was actually seeing Lex Luthor. My moment was dashed on the rocks as I went to say hi, and one of his entourage stepped in front of me and went "so we're leaving right?" #bummed Fast forward, I'm 24, I've been asked by a friend, who was a background wrangler at the time to do a day on smallville. I thought, "meh, why not, let's do it." Met Cassidy Freeman and she was really kind. I worked with Justin Hartley and he was a prankster and alright dude. That same friend came back towards the end of the day and asked "hey man, we have this guy who just needs to run down the stairs point at the desk below, hold it, and then run back up the stairs. I said ___ is a good guy and he'll nail it. So can you? No lines though so no upgrade, just BG on Cam work." I ruminated on it then said sure, why not. I did a wardrobe change into a suit and came back to set, shook hands with the first ad, and then TW came out. I thought "holy shit, he wasn't supposed to be on set today. I'm meeting Clark Kent." TW walked past me to the 1st Ad and said "why does this guy have the same hair cut as me? Doesn't it look the same?" I was super depressed and bummed. This was exacerbated when I, a full union actor, watched the episode later and discovered they dubbed over me with an actor in LA, so instead of the silent pause on a staircase, I'm paused on the staircase with a manly voice that doesnt suit my body saying "Clark you gotta see this, grab your camera". Hollywood def in the business of takign advantage of Canadian actors. But - as odd as this may be, y'all are just people and I get it. Not a "dont meet your heroes" moments, just moments where maybe y'all were having bad days, or bad whatever. It's cool to see TW think back on moments he's not proud of and own them. I'm glad you're all succeeding still. Smallville was my go-to watch to feel better show when High School sucked, and for that, thanks for turning in some really great performances, which I still appreciate to this day.

I got nick named in Highschool Superman and it followed me to the point I have a collection of superman. I forgot the reason why I was called that for 20 years until I hit my bottom and realized Supermans main power was calmness and leadership to sacrifice for others. I now proudly continue that nickname with my Family without any direction from me. Superman/Clark has always been so the right thing regardless of the sacrifice and that's why in a world wide poll asking what symbol do you know, The Cross was number one and S on the chest logo was number two shows how powerful this ideal really is. Tom Cruise had a similar moment during the filming of the last Mission Impossible movie. He blew up at members of the crew for violating Covid protocols. It’s hard to imagine that such a burst of anger was the result of just one incident. What’s more likely is things were building up. Several things may have been going wrong and finally it just reached a boiling point.

I think Cruise's outburst was more understandable and he explained himself well. So many people depended on that production succeeding, on that set and off, that anything short of total compliance was selfishness.

So Cruise blew up because crew were ignoring the health and safety of those around them, and doing stuff that could shut down the production, affecting everyone's earnings? Like him or not for his off screen stuff, he is respected for his proffessionalism and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of his team, and not just those in front of the lens like so many other actors.

Pretty sure it was the millions of dollars riding on the only movie set in production at the time. Of which most of the money was his and he had gotten special license to keep the production going as long as protocol was followed. And he was yelling to be heard, it was all the crew and outside.

A scene i was also used in. We had shot the scene for the better part of the day and broke for lunch. Only to find that the camera operator had accidently erased the entire footage we had shot and Tom lost his shit. We got asked to come back to set shortly after and we shot as much as we could again from that point. It made for an extremely long ...tense day.

These are good guys. You don't have to hit rock bottom to make changes though. Just know that you can do it. Your mind has more power than you might know.

I made sure to drop everything to watch Smallville every week. Until season 8 when Lana Lex, and other people were gone.

Everyone has done this, everyone has a frustration moment that explodes, and it is usually when you are younger and why does it happen? Exactly has Tom said, we don't have all the information and we lack patience to understand what is happening. We lack the ability to see everything at all times. How do you get better at this? Humility and age.

Also Christian Bale apologized to the guy and took him out to dinner. He did a wonderful radio interview where he agreed he was an a**hole and was not making any excuses. The guy was being incredibly unprofessional and distracting. I've been an Actor where I've had to give an intensely emotional performance and in my eye-line is a key grip looking bored at me. I've been polite about it, but I totally understand the anger/frustration especially if you're trying to get into the proper state and the clock is running out AND you're feeling the pressure of being the reason this movie will either succeed or fail.

I did this not two weeks ago to a guy who was revving his engine in the parking lot next to my house while I was trying to sleep. Just came out there and totally blew up at him. He was having car troubles 😞

To me, to yell at someone like that in a professional field is plan entitlement and straight-up harassment or abusive. They're not doing something that means life or death, and you can't and shouldn't have that behavior in other fields. It's absolute abuse of power.

I have ben a fan of Smallville for as long as I can remmeber but this specific clips is exacxtly what I needed on this day. I have also done the same thing and today it almost happened again but I was so aware that the problem was no-one there's fault so I didn't say anything. I hate being that guy whos is like "this showed helped me" etc as it comes off as corny but this clip expecially really did.

It’s interesting that Michael feels that someone filming your worst day and publicizing it is a good thing. I feel the opposite. If someone did that to me, I would feel a bit vindicated because the act of tattling and trying to ruin someone’s reputation is SO much worse than that explosion most of us (if not all of us) experience to one degree or another, I wouldn’t be so much apologizing as I would be wanting to know who violated my privacy and who was getting off on this. As a fan, I don’t want to every celebrity’s bad day. I don’t want to see how awful an industry it is that they can’t even have a bad day without it being leaked. That’s a sick industry to be in. There are going to be fewer and fewer talented actors and actresses if they are not protected and given a proper environment in which to work in. Have an on set psychiatrist, I don’t care, but the actors need to be in an environment where they are not double crossed.
