😀😀Bushwick is Big Tom. You didn't cover the other side of Knickerbocker Avenue near Schaefer Street area and along Bushwick High School. But a nice tour Tom..You really missed alot of the area, but you tried!!! Ralph J.

Bushwick east Williamsburg controversy still continues! To this day. 😂

My family is from Puerto Rico, my mom moved to Brooklyn at age 3, I grew up between Grand and Bushwick (East Williamsburg/Bushwick area), but currently been living in Chelsea co-op since 1989. My 87 year old mom moved into senior housing between Ellery Street & B'way 4 years ago and my sister moved into a co-op between Garden & Bushwick almost 13 years ago. I'm lucky I get to visit them and walk thru the old hood checking out the cool streets & sometimes eat at some of those awesome restaurants. The area has changed and developed so much since I was a kid. I'm lucky I get to go back to visit my family who is still there. Not happy Roberta sold their soul to Tish but whatever, I guess that explains the more polished looking Roberta's in the Domino Park section of North Williamsburg, really hope the original Roberta's never goes away. Anyway, just want to say thank you for doing this tour of Bushwick, I learned a lot of history about the neighborhood in which I grew up in.

@@LI-fh1it me too but the new Williamsburg is a sight to see. I'm lucky my sister lives in a condo in East Williamsburg that way I get to see all the new developments and gentrification when I visit her. Visit, you'd be shocked especially of the prices of things these days in that neighborhood.

Good tour! I live in one of the many "flatiron buildings" in Bushwick. The intersections just start to lean, diagonally and criss-cross...anyway you end up with a bunch of buildings that occupy an entire "block" but arent very big, in the shape of triangle or flatiron. I had No idea Mother Pigeon lived in Bushwick! I bought one of her pigeons probably 6-7 yrs ago on Kent Ave. Williamsburg.

I'm glad you talked about Maria Hernandez park. Forty years ago it was so bad the police put a mobile command post inside and someone blew it up. While it's great when a neighborhood gets new investment and safer streets the newcomers should respect the people already living there.
@johannsmithe25703 жыл бұрын
And, does and will the current population respect any new demographics? I doubt it since they don't respect themselves. The amount of juvenile graffiti, high crime rate, trash, etc. that has been been going on for decades and decades speaks volumes that they have given up on themselves.
