He’s not the comedic historical tour guide New York deserves, but he’s the one it needs. Keep doing your thing man, you are a treasure.

The timing on “the quiet of the country” with the honking couldn’t have happened any more perfectly

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣..man this video cracked me up..old guy Ebenezer’s head popping up while you discribe his idea of country and city garden tranquility …then a major car horn almost an accident almost happened was a 21st Century traffic noise right on cue.

I remember riding through sunnyside as a kid when my mom drove from Ravenswood projects (in Astoria) to Rego park. Yes, i actually had a car nyc experience but owning a car in Queens is fairly common since its futher out and less subway access.

Hands Down!!!!Sunnyside Queens is my all time favorite nyc neighborhood. I always stop by there to walk around, eat at the local restaurants and play chess with the old timers at sunnyside park. Always get this feeling of well being and carefree when I'm there.

I live how the city/ country idea was implemented in the design of the neighborhood! I grew up in Woodhaven, Queens, near Forest Park. So many trees 🌲 Love your videos. Have you walked through Woodhaven yet? 🤔

I always watch your videos straight through from start to finish, Tom. Otherwise I would miss the little nuggets of silly humor and of course when you break into song. (Don’t know if I will be buying the album though) The car honking right when you talked about the quiet neighborhood was perfect!

I never was enthralled with Sunnyside much. It's kind of depressing and grungy. I have to drink as many 80s, not even 40s, as I can to get through the place. LOL

The city activist Jane Jacobs and her husband formulated theories that went beyond the popular, utopian concept of bringing gardens into residential areas. Developers needed to more fully understand the complexities of the city to better satisfy the needs of the community.
