Thank you for showing how to hold the pick and how to hold it when you strum.?Then how to hold the pick when your strumming lightly. When I was young (a teenager) my older brother played both rhythm and lead in a number of groups we were in. I sang vocals but never took up guitar. I watched my brother for years as we rehearsed and performed. He was the best at accompanying a vocalist I have ever seen or worked with. He would sit in with big name groups from time to time and never missed a chord. From watching him for many years I learned to identify chords and I always knew what he was doing and playing. I never took the time to learn all the placing of fingers and strumming myself. I would give anything if I had learned to play at the level he played. We were so busy playing gigs we never Could find to teach a beginner. I could play bass while singing and playing with other bands . Because I knew the notes on the fret board. But when we began to play jazz instead of pop and rock, the vocals demanded my full attention. So now that I’m older I am trying to learn all the stuff I should have many moons ago. As for my brother, well,?he went to California and have not heard from him for about 15 years.

Thanks for the info. Your videos are really helpful. I am getting stuck on these cord changes. When you use the base note does that count as 1 and then when you get your fingers on is that 2. 3. 4?

..Thanks Tomas .. I find it challenging moving from an open chord to a barre chord. Could you do a future video on this? BTW that Cadd9 is my favorite chord - sublime!!
