In my opinion Tom is by far the best role model for the UFC and young guys watching, no ego, super chilled, the type of guy you would want your kids to be like. Long may his reign continue!

@@GonnaGetYouBoiperhaps “watching” isn’t quite the right word for it, but yeah, for boxing (or any combat sports, really) the trick is to keep those large joint movements in your peripheral vision, because it’s better at picking up motions. this is why you’d typically stare without blinking at the upper chest area on your opponent, it enables you to make your focus vision take up less of your attention

I use to do this when teaching TKD hence why I recognised it., not the same level or world of course but great to see. He will make a great teacher if he decides to go that path after competing.

It's only when you see other athletes doing this kind of thing vs a fully trained and seasoned MMA fighter that you realise how tough, hard and dangerous these MMA fighters can be, and making this look so easy - hence stupid KZbinr 'content' makers throwing down ridiculous challenges to MMA fighters. Since watching Tom Aspinall's videos I've developed a great respect for the man, seemingly reflected by a large number of the MMA community. I think it's great that Britain has a quality calibre fighter like Tom within the MMA sphere. Good luck and great success to him, all the best from South Wales.
