Very good video. It is tiring to see ksi being constantly downplayed as if he's completely out of tommy fury's league. Now, you, an extremely experienced boxer has the fight down to the wire and I agree with your points. Just for a little bit of info, the bouncing on his toes / hands down / leading with power shots style he's using comes from kickboxer and MMA fighter Michael Venom Page. They train together at London Shootfighters and KSI has really bought into it. Its interesting at this level as it might let him stay very relaxed without much danger of a response. However MVP is a freak of nature and incredible at what he does so it's very very hard to replicate that. MVP also recently lost to fellow MMA fighter Mike Perry (backup to Logan Vs Danis) in a bare knuckle boxing match so its debatable how effective it is with no threat of kicks.
@danielsimmonds464
@danielsimmonds464 Жыл бұрын
Mate did you watch that fight? He didn’t loose to Mike Perry it was a draw. And I’m not even sure how that happened because MVP dominated the first 5 rounds of that fight. Perrys only round was round 6. So for The judges to call that a draw is beyond me.
@orm3966
@orm3966 Жыл бұрын
@@danielsimmonds464 in bkfc there are no draws and Perry won the overtime round. I actually cant remember it but am I not correct in saying Mike got a knockdown early? I do know me and everyone else thought that would have been the easiest fight of MVPs recent career and I think on MMA MVP would walk through him so his style probably relies quite heavily on the threat of all 8 areas rather than just 2.
@danielsimmonds464

@@orm3966 I literally just rewatched the fight, they classed a slip as a down on venom, then the second round MVP dropped Perry but they only classed it as a slip even both hands hit he mat... you can argue Perry won the last round but it shouldn't have been a draw in the first place.... is clear to see the judges favoured Perry in the scores

Respect to you for being logical, KSI is a beast the man is a determined person, hes missed many Sidemen shoots etc for this fight. I can almost garuntee nothing means more to him right now than focusing on and winning this fight. Tommy is a beast of a man, huge guy but you also have to take into account he just had a child, nothing means more to a man than their kid. I think KSI has a very good shot at winning this fight but it has to be done early, where his quick blitzing and power is at its peak. I think if it goes the distance Tommy wins for sure could be just mind games but if tommy really thinks KSI is a small man and pushes in early looking for his own KO he might just get caught.

Although i only ever did amateur boxing and am certainly no expert...i will go with Fury. If his opponent keeps throwing his head down, which by now he probably should do anymore...its Fury going straight down the pipe and lights out. The elbow incident was clearly accidental but should have resulted in no contest or disqualification. I have faced low hands oppents before with good footwork and big power punches...they were tricky! As you train expecting the more traditional style of boxer. My solution was to control the ring and be a bull...but you have to be able to take the hits...and being a southpaw helped...again, i was amateur, so you fought anybody lol...and I certainly was never to your standards...but Fury for me.
@gnomeam
@gnomeam Жыл бұрын
It might have been more tricky for you too because as an amateur fighting whoever they threw at you, you wouldn't have the tape on the other guy to train or a suitable training partner to mimic them. I don't think Fury will have either of these issues seeing as KSI's fights are all available online and Fury should have no shortage of money to hire an appropriate partner and team to plan around KSI's style

KSI began telegraphing his first big bomb of the fight yesterday and I'm sure TF is clocking it already. Who does he think he is with the low hands, Roger Mayweather? Terrible footwork, leaping, no counters, no doubling up the jab and no head movement. KZbin boxing is the Pro Wrestling of the sweet science. @@bobdarrick2628 Yeah Im from the UK, people say it at football like 'play up sky blues' but I've only heard 'up the -second name here-' from travellers. I've never heard a non traveller/gypo say 'up the -second name here' in any case it's the same meaning pretty much. My main point was that it's a positive thing to say, not a negative thing. As up the jeffries could sound like an insult if you didn't know about how the travellers use the phrase 'up the -second name here-'

A good jab will win the fight for either side. Fury’s jab offset Jake’s rhythm but Tommy also never put anything behind his jab. JJ’s never really stuck his jab on anyone but he’s always determined to throw. I just hope JJ shows us a jab.

i think its really hard to tell since jj has the most unorthodox style you could think of and reminds me alot like wilder. i mean hes pretty much wiped the floor with most of his opponents (apart from logan) and we haven't seen much training footage from him, so hes quite a mystery in boxing. we havnt even seen him in the later rounds yet as most of his most recent boxing fights have lasted 1 round to 2 rounds, but at the same time tommey fury has the experience, beat jake, and is the more polished fighter. i think jj has to go for the knockout otherwise tommey will win by decision

I've only gotten into the KZbinr Boxing because of the beef between Tommy and KSI. I am a KSI fan but after watching a few clips of KSI and Tommy fighting I'd have to say Tommy just has better fundamentals compared to most KZbin boxers. But everyone loves a comeback story and in this fight KSI is the undisputed underdog. I believe in him to create a miracle. LETS GOO KSI!!

I boxed for 5 years. Then Muay Thai, kick boxing and grappling. An elbow is like a golf club. Feels nothing like a punch with a glove on, or bare fist, it’s more like a hammer. This KSI doesn’t judge distance and move in with tight combos. He’s rushes in with a flurry with his chin open. Tommy Fury will pick his opening take his time and connect imo. 2 round KO is possible. But those fights don’t benefit from a Mike Tyson style win. It’s part of a storyline so notice it’ll go the distance. £££££££

Mr Jeffries, firstly, great content. Thank you for your channel. I have a request: a video about stances and footwork ideas for people with scoliosis, since it messes up our balance. Or, if there isn't any ajustment to be done, a video telling why...but I "feel" that conventional stances make me off balance a little bit.

Even though he is driven, and does a lot of work, he doesn't dedicate his life to boxing like Jake did for a few years, which makes some of his ability quite impressive. He spent around 3 years doing nothing after dropping boxing to focus on music. And even before that, and since he came back, does minimal boxing training between fights. Back when he started he would do boxing training during a camp, then immediately drop it all and do basically nothing - often ballooning in weight and losing all that physical condition he has. He has got better in the last year or two and keeping himself in shape between, but still does a lot less boxing (sometimes none for periods) between fights. I do wish he had stuck with a boxing coach, and continued to dedicate to training the fundamentals for longer before looking to add more unorthodox elements to his game. It would have done a lot for him and he could have been so much better.
