Unlike McGuire or Bonds (neither of whom would’ve hit half as many home-runs without juice) I think JJ probably would’ve won just as many fights if he was clean. Unfortunately we’ll never know. They need to start erasing people’s names instead of putting an asterisk next to it. I dont know what it will take in order to discourage great athletes from undermining their sport and their own legacy, but I know they enjoy their notoriety as much as the money. So ban them for life and erase their name from the history books. On second thought, none of these people and the majority of their fans probably aren’t sure what a book looks like. Yeah , there are more ways to give Reyes that win then Jon . You would have to explain and change the judging criteria to give it to Jon . The most you can say is that if the fight was longer Jon would win , Reyes was spent and Jon was fresh aftermm 5 . But if you look at punch stats and rounds Jon lost . But some people score round 4 and 5 with more importance as the championship ro7nds and Jon did hurt Reyes in the way that takes your soull in 5 . Reyes put JJ down and hit him hard and beat on him but when Jon hit Reyes who is EXTRA TOUGH you could see that he was praying to just make it to the end . I THINK REYES WON !!! But I sorta kinda almost half way understand the argument for Jon . Jon said at end of fight I think I won based on my takedowns , that will be the difference . Takedowns unless slams on your head or followed up by damage mean dick squat to me and going for takedowns when getting your ass beat is a good strategy to take a break which is what Jon did but you cant be behind on strike stats and have been put on your ass by a strike and say stopping the action and having Reyes escape means you won. Good strategy to pause the beating and make fighter kicking your ass expend gas tank getting up or try8ng , BUT THEN YOU NEED TO BEAT REYES UP and when you fail to you need to knock him out and when Reyes, however tired is standing at e nd of 5th and Reyes has 3 rounds and knockdown Jon is the loser . More people believe Jon lost then Reyes, and Reyes has no huge fan base . People just watched the fight and saw Reyes get robbed . Most people who no Jones career know he has lost a fight . Jones may be a crappy human being, but he is a great fighter. He is the Goat of MMA in my opinion. I could care less about the steroids because I dont think he ever needed it. He has the skill, the toughness, and the balls to get in that cage with the biggest/baddes men on the planet. He already has the resume to prove his spot at the top. The only thing that is keeping his name from being cemented at the top is the fans who believe steroids are what got him where he is. Steroids dont give you skill or desire to be great. He never needed the steroids and has already proved it. He came off a 3 year layoff, moved up a weight class with natural weight gain, and won the Heavy weight title with relative ease. Even great fighters have trouble moving up a division or coming off a multi year layoff John did both and made it look easy. Dude, it is the goat, and there isn't anything that could change my mind.

Silva is potential for sure. I would throw GSP george st-pierre in there as one of my personal favorites. He only ever lost 2 times and then in rematches always won. The man was at the peek physical limit pound for pound at his height and just dominated. Pretty sure he had a health issue and sadly had to retire earlier than he wanted, but he sure was unstoppable when I used to watch mma.

I remember the first Gustafsson well. I thought he beat Jon. Jon was the most talented all around fighter I’ve ever seen. Too bad he threw away 3 or 4 of his prime years of fighting. Still was incredible. I think at this point if we see him again he’ll be a shell of his former self. That said, he’s talented snd skillful enough to still win
