Tomato Saar - Vegetarian Recipe
Tomato saar is basically a tangy soup like preparation made with tomatoes, onions and a few basic spices. This is a traditional dish from Mangalore.
Easy and simple to make and can be made with a few pantry staples. Best paired with some rice, and a piece of fish/chicken fry.
A plate of ice, tomato saar and some dry fish fry or chutney is a comfort food for me. Any leftovers you can always have as a soup. Tomatoes are a rich source of vitamin C, a natural antioxidant which prevents cancer.

1 large onion
2 tomatoes
Few curry leaves
Salt as per taste
3 green chillies
1 inch piece ginger
Chopped coriander leaves
Oil as required
1/2 turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp kashmiri chilly powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1 Maggie cube
