Everything looks so great, Gary. I really like being able to see the progression of your garden. It really helps me (3rd yr gardener) learn. It such a great time of year. Last night we had our first major dinner party of the summer in which just about everything except the dairy and olive oil products came from my garden. Even the vinegar! It was so gratifying, fun, and oh yes- delicious. NOTHING beats a fresh picked veg.

With regards to the regularity of hydrogen peroxide spraying (and thank you so much for this advice, it's been so helpful to me over the last few years!): I found that only one spray with your strongest solution kills most fungal diseases. So I usually spray once, as soon as I see a fungal issue, and that's usually enough to stop it in its tracks. The trick is to spray thoroughly, because the H2O2 seems to kill all the spores that it comes in contact with. So if you skip a bit there will still be active spores around.

When I was a kid, our backyard was 80% vegetable garden, mostly tomatoes. Everyone laughed when I planted cucumber seeds under the Mimosa tree, in deep shade. No one laughed when one day I came running into the house with a gigantic cucumber in my hands! So the next time I grow cucumbers will be in full or part shade.

Really enjoying this video. I have been planting right along as spring was rainy and the 90mph winds. Everything is growing well. And I am so glad that I didn't give up. I did get tomatoes and peppers in early enough. If I have late crops, I don't care. I love to garden.

Shade cloth kept my peas and everything growing right through 100* heatwave! I did water a bit more, and in the middle of the day with a mist. But it was 40% shade cloth and I put it up and take it down as needed when we get in the 90s or more.

Hey Gary, I really like that mini shed you built! Our tomato plants are responding very well to the H202 spraying. I think the weather, & the fact that the foliage grew like crazy this year contributed to making the lower leaves & stems go bad. Along with the spraying, I have been thinning back a lot of foliage to increase air flow & light penetration.

Have you ever used diluted apple cider vinegar spray for blight on fruit trees or veges? I will try the H2O2. We have the wild blackberries everywhere and pop them in a ziplock bag and store in the freezer gives great fruit in winter. Really enjoy your videos and ramblings. I have tiny black beetle like bugs this year that are going crazy on my leaves. It's not messing with the fruit as much but slowing the growth for sure. Will H202 help with that?

If it's beetles, no. The hydrogen peroxide might clean them! But won't kill them! A lethal dose of hydrogen peroxide will probably also damage your leaves, so it's not good as an insecticide. How tiny are these beetles? And on which plant(s)? If they are big enough, picking them off by hand and squashing them is best. If there are too many, spray them off with a jet of water. But if it's a plant that doesn't like getting its leaves wet, you'll have to use a neem oil spray (if it's a chewing/sucking pest), or an organic contact insecticide. Gary also uses insect dust (you'll see it in his other videos).

I don't think Gary understood your question, but no - you should never keep pre-mixed sprays (and Gary doesn't - he always mixes his sprays right before using them). The various concentrates that you use for spraying is best kept in their original container, then they last longer. Some concentrates start breaking down very quickly once mixed in water or brought out into light. I think the reason for having individual spray bottles for each type of spray is so that he does not have to thoroughly clean each one after spraying. For example, oil-based sprays leave a residue in the sprayer that you cannot rinse out with water, so if you then put a hydrogen peroxide solution in it some of the hydrogen peroxide will be broken down when coming into contact with these residues. So it's useful to have a designated bottle for each kind of spray that you use (if you can afford it).
