Sorry for my 3rd comment here, haha! Oh gosh. Favorite tomato. I don't think I've grown enough varieties to have a favorite yet but so I'd say the Red Brandywine or Pink Brandywine. It's just got that awesome classic tomato flavor. It's meaty. It's creamy. It's just delicious. 🍅 I'm also trying Carbon for the first time this year.

2023 the Thornburn's Terra-Cotta was the best tasting tomato for fresh eating and sandwiches in the garden. The flavor was even better than the Cherokee Purple and Black Krim, 2 that always make the garden list. We were very surprised. We do grow Borage and Marigolds with our tomatoes. This year I am adding Basils also. Sungold is always the top cherry pick although, we have tried many cherry varieties. For sauce, we like the Jersey Devil, Orange Strawberry, Orange Oxheart and Giant Paste. We always grow Roma II also. We grew 152 tomato plants and countless varieties last year. Amazing how different the flavors and production can be. We are in E TN zone 7a.

New subscriber and I also have a seed addiction..especially tomatoes, beans and squash. I grow quite a few that you've mentioned here including Silvery Fir Tree. I agree that the flavor is so-so but in my northern area it is the very first tomato to ripen every year so it is a favorite. I grow the determinates in half barrels on my deck and the indeterminate tomatoes in the garden. Loved this episode and I will check out the rest of your channel. Edited to add my fav tomato which is difficult so I have 2..lol. Purple Russian paste tomato because it's purple and juicy...Marglobe Supreme because it's red and perfect looking with great taste...and so many others that you have already mentioned😊

Sooo many tomatoes! You’re growing almost all of my favorites! Super sweet 100 (open pollinated version), ambrosia gold (similar to sun gold), rosella (like black cherry but a little smaller and brighter color), orange peach (similar to wapsipinican), Granny Cantrell (I love love, my strain is a dark pink), Ananas Noire, Virginia Sweets, Gary osena, Black Sea man (also a determinate). I always grow some reds and paste and hybrids… but meh they’re fine.

Cherokee Purple was so named because of a translation of the Native American word describing a bruise. I wonder if growing it in a different location could be the secret. I've grown it in NC and TN, not too far from where it was first discovered and it's consistently one of the tastiest tomatoes I've ever had.

I am also a Tomato enthusiast to the tune of 367 seed varieties (at the moment) in my collection & I agree that Paste tomatoes are boring and not my favorite at all--but I highly recommend Cream Sausage as something different. I’ve grown tropical sunset but not sunrise bumblebee so I’m not sure how they compare. Tropical sunset had this lovely iridescence to the skin and orangey pink stripes. Super pretty but the skin was a little thick for me and the taste was a little more on the tangy fruity side than sweet. I grew it in a 7 gal grow bag though and it did pretty well.

We have really strict bio security rules here to protect our native birds and plant species. I’m pretty sure we have a list of seeds we are allowed and if seed companies want to bring in new varieties they have to go through a big process to have them approved.

Coyote cherry tomato is a small, pale yellow tomato that produces a TON of tomatoes that are actually sweeter than Sun Gold, if you can believe that, BUT they are so mild that you might think you are eating a grape... Only problem is the skins are so thin that they split really easy... so they will not be easy to collect for the farmers market.

I am looking for a good reliable red or pink slicer. My tentative slicer list for spring'24 includes: 1) Blk Krim, 2) Brandywine Yellow, 3) Hillbilly 4) Big Rainbow 5) Cherokee Carbon OR Cherokee Purple, I have room for 2 more tomato plants, I would love to add a potato leaf or 2 --- red or pink, but most important is taste and production and that it be very different taste than what's on list. Idk Maybe thinking Better Boy or Pink TieDye or German Johnson.

Th2 tomatoes I most excited about. Dwarf Eagle Smiley: Smiley = golf ball size (larger cherry tomatoes are my go2) super productive "most compareable 2SUNGOLD" (worlds best tomato flavorwise, unanimously) Smiley = Craig Lehoullier's Dwarf T.P. best cherry effort. ..crossed with Mexico Midget wild tomato = strong durable qualities high sugar. (Wild tomatoes have special sweetness gene others lack, & its 2nd parent = Green Giant / original early ripening "most productive per acre/earliest" dwarf that was released turn of thcentury. Yellow color repells birds "sweet tangy intense refreshing..." Sungold hallmark is also its super sweet with citrusy zing. Smiley = open pollinated "very compareable" 2Sungold" so u can save seed. Sungold, developed in Japan from secret varieties, u cant save seed. Garden people are so dffrnt they like little fairies portaled in from heaven. I get all kinds appreciative notes free seeds& thank you's. I got free packet Amazon Chocolate "exceedingly rare tomato" (according 2google.) FORTY seeds. Look at the care& quality packaging. Photo Amazon Chocolate tomato sellers page... So I thought was probably just mediocre tomato. This reviewer You Tube has grown many varieties he says he will never not gro this again. Seller states: The plants are quite large and bushy with great heat tolerance and better disease resistance than most heirlooms. They produce large chocolate bronze colored fruits that can weigh up to 1 pound. The fruit matures in 80 days from transplant so the seeds should be started 4-7 weeks before your last expected frost. My original seed stock is from the Ukraine. If you are looking for a great slicer the Amazon's take a backseat to nothing. The fruits have that old time flavor that is deeply rich and sweet with hints of red wine. These are delicious and are in a select group at the very top, I can't imagine not always growing them.

We helped design the biblical eden. So, you wont be hearing any interviews from me. Satan wont allow it & 95% humans are his tare race. Computer controlled. Craig Lehoullier doing it all wrong. When cmpared 2my system. I do like that he and I nearly identical in many respects. My very 1st garden, 1986, i subbed no book. I employed a method based on simple IQ instead. I arrived where Paul Gautschi had spent a lifetime only 2finally discover. I grew scallion bulbs soccer ball size & 17 foot tomatoes. Not1 person of thousands has yet ask me how I did it?? I really only planted 5 vegetable gardens since. I live on a 100 tree food forest Wister Lake. I specialize in wild food forests & coined thterm on a 15 year project Mt. Above Azusa California long ago. Now days i just throw wild seeds road side on an E-Bike where most of my wild foods are now collected. I harvest 38lbs wild tomatoe (ground cherry) in 5hours 1 spot roadside. They keep 4 to 6 months in winter. Lucifer IMMEDIATELY placed a railroad tie replacement plant that spot 2poison thsoil bcuz some spots on earth are miraculously blessed. He HATES free food. All roadside mowers& tractors are Satans kids. In heaven, roadsides are where all th food grows. When your solar system was heaven, earths name was SHAN. It was all fruit trees. I was friends with Yahwehs daughter Shazzerazi. When she was here on earth. She created earth from Yah's creation room on Saturn. Jesus created Venus, Satan was his elder brother. His planet became your asteroid belt in thwar. 14 kids =14 pkanets 2boy Jesus & Halayel. Planets are considered houses in heaven. They are hollow angels live inside. My point is a local told me she used 2pick buckets wild fruit. Now there is none. 95% humans are plasticines. Computer controlled by Satan. They trim all our roadsides & teach people mow they lawns2 DESTROY soil. My water table 7ft. With huge lush weeds. Average is now 330 ft. Mowers also annihilate bees. No flowers. Now, i planted vegetables again. In 5 minutes I design world lead garden system. I line chickenwire vases with leaves. Cut 24" x 32" = 20" tall pot. Plant tomato 1 gallon, add soil up stem to top as plant gro. U get hige dynamite shaped taproot. Roots then explode beneath vase if u mulch there2 I just knock over vase roots go thru sides. Blanket prostrate plants fall extend season. Mobile vases& watering saturates sides, u can dip them in water or catch all water re use salvage loss nutrients. I rot ANY green weeds in water 4fertilzer. Those are thbasics. Interview? Any humans out there???
