Fished that “other” river system 3 days in a row this last week pulling that smallest Shad dancer on lead core. Around a small area with bait balls everywhere. Last 3 hours of daylight were by far some of the best walleye fishing I’ve ever had. Every pass over a small 100yard area was a nice fish!! Ended up only using one rod it was so insane. Love the aggressive river fish! Plus the bonus catfish that gets your heart racing thinking it’s a 30” walleye only to mangle your $8 crank baits. 🤣

Super good reminder that technology is not everything! I just went out on the St Louis River, rough fishing day, but I definitely learned that tech does not catch the fish, people do!

Hey Tom, I would absolutely enjoy a deer video from your production. I reside in the thumb of Michigan and last winter lived vicariously through your fishing videos, as we had no ice to speak of. Hoping for hard water this time around though. Your productions are top notch to me.

I am a 70 yr-old river-rat; though I do not fish like I used to. I agree that current is super important. Actively feeding walleyes, IMO, always enter into or very near faster current. I have found that "holes" are not that productive unless you fish the upper part of the hole near faster water. Current is key. IMO, current gives walleyes a huge advantage to catch prey, and that is why they feed there. I forgot to add that faster current obviously means relatively shallow water; I have caught most river walleyes in 2 to 4 feet of water.

Dude!! I asked for a flowage video and you serve up pure gold!!! It was amazing to hear you verbalize almost everything I think through when I'm on the water. I would absolutely enjoy a day fishing with you. I think it's funny that the Columbia river in Oregon/Washington never make the list. We have just as good of fishing as what you just did with the opportunity for a trophy class!...( 31inches 12lbs is my pb)

Great content, Tom. Low river flow definitely affects where the walleyes are. Here in central Wisco the last two months have definitely slowed down the walleye bite.

I’m a fisherman and bowhunter myself. However, a man that makes a living in front of a camera, needs a break from the camera sometimes. A stick of dynamite goes a long way above those wing dams. Don't throw upstream especially on windy days. Instead throw down stream from the back of the boat so the current can drift the stick away from your boat and out of harms way. After the water blows quickly head downstream and collect and go. Works like a charm.

Hi Tom I have been watching you for last 3 or more years.I am a walleye now app subscriber and have been learning lots from you. I have been wanting to invite you to come down to the St Clair and fish with me. End of October into November and December is really good usually . Its a deep fast water river , depth range as deep as 70' I fish at the mouth of the river in Lake Huron at times we can catch 50+ fish a day on good days. It would be nice to learn from you in this high current situation we have here. 1.5-2.1 mph current dependant on wind direction in Lake Huron. Check it out and see what you think. I think it would be a great challenge for you to learn lots and for me as well. Thanks for all you do Tom your the best Lorne Font
