We haven't test it but I think ink is not a factor🙂

It looks like it takes longer to erase than pencil. Whatever you do don’t use nail polish remover as it bleeds into the next page.

Yes it did, if you like to rub gel pen ink you could try erasable gel pen like Pilot FriXion Ball Knock Erasable Gel Pen.
