Could you make a video about the word inversion in the Dutch language? On the same line on the duolingo "word inversion" section but with some grammatical explanation. It seems that if you strictly follow the "second verb at the end of the sentence" you get accused of germanising the language. PS: great channel and dank u wel

I can give it a go. Do you have any examples of Dutch sentences that seem Germanized? My knowledge of German is quite passive, but as far as I can remember right now, word order is generally the same.

@@TomCatchesUp for example one of my Dutch friends always write down "wil ik ook" why is it not "ik wil ook" I can't find a rule to explain that. Thanks for your answer anyway

@@giulioburroni7588 Ah I see. Firstly, have you seen my video about word order? It's a bit basic and doesn't go too deep into this sort of nuance, but could be a helpful starting point. To me, 'wil ik ook' is a shortened way of saying ' *dat* wil ik ook' - 'I want that too'. The 'ik' isn't the subject it seems to be, it's actually an object. 'Ik wil ook' seems incomplete, it's just the start of a sentence like 'Ik wil ook een portie patat' - 'I want a portion of fries too'. Additionally, 'wil ik ook' could be the start of a self centered question: 'Wil ik ook naar de bioscoop?' - 'Do I want (to go to) the cinema too?' In this instance the 'ik' is the subject. Simple questions are always inverted in that way, I think I talk about that in my video on word order. Does this help?

Yeah, trying to cram a lot of info into one video without making it too extensive. But hey, that's what the pause button and the 'j' and 'l' hotkeys in KZbin are for ;)
