Good question. It is a 50/50 on which car to follow when they split up like that, but a lot of times if a car slowed down it is having issues and might be out of control and going to hit the wall. I would rather capture that. Thanks for watching!

@@shonuff7317 Yes.. Butler Performance. We used to buy stuff from them for my Dad's 65 GTO. Of course its aftermarket.. I would not expect a stock pontiac block to hold that power.. :) I should have elaborated on the real part.. meaning it wasn't an LS motor..

@@shonuff7317 He grew up drag racing in Florida in the 60s and 70s with a 65 GTO.. When I was 16 he did a ground up restoration on one but went in with a 421ci and 66 tri-power. Car ran in the mid 12s.. was a blast. We sold it to a guy who put some aluminum edebrlocks heads on it and put it off in the 11s with Muncie 4 speed. I miss that car.

WOW! Absolutely awesome race between Lutz's '57 and Chucky's NEW '55! Dunno what happened to Lutz, his hotrod just dropped out at the end of his run. As far as I'm concerned Lutz's '57 is still the most beautiful hotrod out there and when it's hitting all 8 holes it's one of the quickest.

Thanks Ody. They would have to slow the cars down a bit if they were going to do 1,000ft or 1/4 mile races, they are already going 200 mph in the 1/8th mile on a non prepped surface. That's getting to be a bit much to ask of a car in my opinion.

Thanks Tommy, yeah that would be something if I could get a finish line camera set up for those close races. But the reality is that this is Discovery's event and I'm just lucky to get video from the stands. They get all the good shots like they should :)

Yeah he sure was. One little fact that I left out of the video and I'm sure Discovery will cover when the episode comes out is that Robin's car blew up the motor on Friday night during one of the burnouts. Over night he borrowed Ryan Martin's back up motor for the Fireball Camaro and raced that on Saturday. Interesting huh?

Why did so many losing cars race multiple times? Like Lizzy lost earlier but then raced High Voltage at night?

If they lose in the first round they are able to enter into an "Outlaw Big Tire" race that is seperate from the $40k invitational race. So you are able to see your favorite racer race again in the night even if they got eliminated right away. It makes for a jam packed night of racing.

RSQ Hitman808 it’s referred to as a pecker extender. Cars that have shorter noses than the minimum per the rules run them to make up for the slight ET reduction it would cause, since the top end beam catches the front of the car

What did Pat Musi figure out to get Lizzy/Kye's nitrous cars to run so fast out the backdoor? He obviously has figured out a way to get those nitrous motors to run a higher MPH in the 1/8. Never seen a nitrous car pick up that much speed after the 330' mark!

They also run an "Outlaw Big Tire" race if you get eliminated from the Invitational race. So that is why I throw those races in there too. They are all fun races to watch.

Yeah I look through my footage and he ran twice on Saturday and lost both races. One to AxMan and then to Jeff Lutz. I will be putting up some videos of small tire stuff on my Facebook page TomEighty.

I use a camcorder that allows me to pull the trigger on photos while I'm shooting video and I never really looked at the speed setting before. But I just looked up what is default on that camera. between 1/8 and 1/10,000 seconds in movie recording at 60p

tomeighty I see how that would be useful. I’m rocking a Sony A7. It might be able to do that but isn’t built for video. Normally if I get nice cars on the road it’s like 1/15 to 1/30. I’m going to see what I can do dropping down to 1/8. Still don’t think I’ll nail it as well as you are, but practice makes perfect. Thanks for being so responsive. Best channel I’ve ever subbed too.

I'm with you, and to admit I can't help feeling a bit sad for him, he has the best equipment out there and in all fairness he's a daymn fine pilot but that nasty Lady Luck has it in for him. When he's on his game he's lightning quick at the bulb, when he's on his game his car can hang with the best of 'em,, only problem ~ his "ON" days are hard to come by. We hope he hangs in there 'cause I would really like to see him come into his own, he deserves it, he and his team work just as hard as any of them.

He was at the Extreme race track in Texas racing at a ProMod event with Murder Nova. I'm assuming they got enough money thrown at them to skip this No Prep Kings race.

He fired up the car on Thursday and found he had a bent valve in the motor. So it tore the heads off and got them fixed in time on Friday morning before the race. I'm assuming either there was more problems or the valve replacement had some issue. He was pretty much lucky he was racing at all that day.

Kamakazi vs Dominator, don't they have like 5 seconds to lite the second bulb? Dunno but Kamakazi may have throttled up a bit quick expecting Dominator would pull on in, he should have but,,

I think it is 7 seconds they have to get into the second bulb. But with it being 99 degrees out that day and probably being super hot in his fire suit he wasn't in the mood for being burned down and just took off.
