Give 2 managers (one perfect, one terrible) identical teams (say, everyone with a 13 rating in everything) in the same league, lock everyone into long contacts, and see how things go from there.

Hey if you do these experiments again can you please edit their hidden attributes like preferred formation and tactical stats (pressing, offense, Defense etc.). From my experiences those stats have a huge impact on the team performances. For example if you change the preferred formation of pep to a 424, Man City are going to turn rubbish.

I don't know what you were expecting XD Worst manager has scouts to scout the best players, perhaps a director to buy the players, he just needed to play a basic tactic. They had the staff and money to not struggle. The best manager had a club with very very poor finances, poor staff and not a very good squad. can't vastly improve the squad with no money and poor staff. if you look at the league finish graph it shows that Arsenal overall Arsenal are gradually doing worse, and Scunthorpe was gradually doing better. It just took some gradual time rather than being quick.

It's actually really disappointing seeing the results of all these experiments with staff/facilities/stadiums etc. Almost confirms that it all makes such minimal difference that it is completely pointless. The only thing that actually makes a difference is the players.

Only the manager was changed, if you have poor facilities and staff your players won't develop as well etc.

​@@acarith8494 He has literally done videos on all of it. That's why I brought it up. Best facilities against worst facilities....best facilities didn't pull ahead. Same with managers etc. Stadiums....all sorts. None had an effect. So....as I said.....the only thing (other than tons of money) that really makes any difference whatsoever in FM is the players. Sont need to bother improving facilities or getting better staff etc....as it's been proven with all the different videos....that they make very little difference....if any

@@philstansfield I dont know, I can tell a difference in how my young players develop when I have great youth facilities and staff compared to below average for example. For many people it's about min maxing. If I have a wonderkid with 5-star potential but I have shit facilities, then he most likely won't reach that potential.

@@acarith8494 but watch the videos. He did one with two identical wonderkids. Locked into clubs. 1 with perfect facilities....and one with awful. Practically no difference. People forget that most players have a "potential range" so they are different every game. When you think that guy grew better because of facilities....it was probably just him at the top end of his range. Same with staff etc....they make very little difference. I have watched loads of different content creators do these little tests. Results are always similar. Facilities and staff have very little effect.

@@philstansfield Youth made a difference. Give a team perfect youth facilities and recruitments and they'll eventually climb to the prem.

My guess is the managers act on advise from the other staff when simmed, so like when we get all of the pre match advise and such, i guess the manager does and he will be acting on advise from the other staff. Maybe try it again but make all the worst managers staff bad too.

Managers and manager attributes are completely irrelevant in fm . All AI managers are exactly the same barring there preferred formation the stats are there to try to make u think they mean something and that the game isn't as shallow as it is

I think it’d affect general player unhappiness, in match happiness and youth players getting bad traits, but that’s it. I don’t even know if touchline talks are simmed if you’re not in a match and even the ai struggles to make more than one or two players unhappy at a time. Really think that transfers are done thru the DoF or the board as well (to fit a managers tactic,) you never really get player biases when managers move clubs, only the club biases (like Portuguese players for Wolves.)

I tried something similar, i used the IGE to find managers with overall of 1 and put them in charge of city and utd. made zero different. their overall never went up, but they were both there 10-15 years going back and forth with league wins. in the past ive put wenger and ferguson in the national north and they both were treading mid table water before moving on

For what i know if simulated till end of season, its the assistant manager that take control the squad right since the manager is on holiday? Pls correct me if im wrong.. so being worst manager is doesnt matter since the assistant takeover..

mate, on my saves, if i sim through an entire season[holiday ]. i come back to read emails from other staff, board or squad members praising the 2nd in command not me for the teams success.. makes sense cause i was on holiday whilst the fella work the team.. Although im not familiar with rigged or controlled simulations, I'd say and do say, it may be that worst and best manager were on holiday all the time

My pitch for a video idea is swapping the best player from the best team with the best player from the worst team in a league. Can do it for all the teams in inverse order (i.e 1st and 20th, 2nd and 19th, so on). I think it would be fun to see how differently players would excel given a totally different environment

Just for context: People Management of 3 means bullying your own players for medical problems, and telling the club doctor which medical procedure to perform (e.g. Peter Hyballa's stint in Esbjerg), as well as other mismanagement to a level where you'd get the Danish labor authorities to threaten sanctions unless you get your shit together. That's violation of common sense level bad. The worst manager is even worse than that in every aspect of being a manager.
