If you really think abt it… didn’t the packers and bucs have the same exact seasons? - nfc team that had a trash start to the season - finishes 9-8 - wins a wild card game over the favorites - loses a tight game in the divisional

Well I have to say good or bad Tom always nails it. I've been a Buccaneers fan since 1991. We are always looked down upon but really we're somewhat of a new franchise and we have won two super bowls now. Some teams have been around since the beginning and have not even won one yet. But I'm still on the fence about Baker. Kyle Trask has one heck of an arm. He seems to be lacking in leadership. So anyhow I guess we'll see what happens this season? Go Bucs!!!

I remember that around the 2014 off-season, word was going on about that Stamkos was gonna go to free agency and Steve Yzerman pulled an epic rabbit out of his hat to keep him in Tampa Bay, putting out that crazy fire before it even began. This move (along with drafting Vasilievsky, getting Ondrej Palat and Tyler Johnson, among other talents) is the reason why I always thought you guys should have sent fruit baskets to Steve, even though he wasn't around for the Cup wins.

As a Bucs what a relatable video we sucked at the beginning of the season but baker baker at the end and we beat the eagles and we had one of the best offseasons. Keep up the videos Tom

Actually we were pretty strong at the beginning of the season. 3-1 start is pretty good. It was the MIDDLE of the season where we tanked.

Being a Lions fan, I do have to say our playoff game was really intense to watch. I'm impressed how much of a fight Baker and them put up against us. It definitely showed they're not a pushover, and bringing back a lot of the same guys should be a positive going into next season. Hopefully they won't pose as big a threat to us again, but they very well could.

the Bucs are in a weird scenario technically they are in some weird rebuild/not rebuild... but they are competitive for the division due to the divisions dysfunction. overall the team probably deserves like an A- or B+ grade. if they win yeah sounds right, if they lose, yeah thats possible. its definitely one of the more enjoyable types of teams to root for.

Conpetitive rebuilding is a thing, not an easy task though. You're in a kinda odd limbo where you can win 8-10 games and a playoff game with a bit of luck, while bringing in new players in key positions. The Bucs are still relying on the superbowl team and the real challenge will begin when everyone will be gone or past their prime. For example, Evans is a top 3-5 wr (yes, he is), but he will be gone in a few years and you need to find someone as good as him, or change the way you play offense.

The loss of Dave Canales as their OC might be their only issue this offseason, given how well he did with Baker. However, I definitely don't think the Falcons are the clear favorites to win this division. The Buccaneers are still a really good team in the post-Brady era, and now with Barton... they may have an actual run game!

Canales was decent, and I wish him well, but he honestly wasn't any great shakes as an OC, and his major impact on Baker was just letting Baker use the tools at his disposal. Baker did what he does every year he isn't hurt or have someone completely garbage in charge of the offensive playcalling. Liam Coen seems quite competent given his pedigree with the Rams and Tennessee. The offense will be fine and might actually be really good if our middle O-line improves.

@@kategrant2728 power rankings has nothing to do with how far you made it into the post season. All that matters is regular season standings which puts them at 19th. Just Google the standings for last season yourself and you'll see they're 19th. A 9-8 team does not instantly become 8th because they clinched their division and made the playoffs. They would still be the same standings they were before hand.

@@SpaceMarineAna well they are probably currently ranked much higher because they probably have more people with more potential and better stats than in Tampa from what people have seen from previous seasons like most notably last season. Now these are just people ranking based off of that and can hold no real weight till football season when teams prove them right/wrong. Also there are many different factors to take into consideration when doing rankings other than this team beat that team so they should be ahead when it all matters as to how, why, and all did each team also do throughout the entire season. The Buccs had a harder time against favored teams than the Packers so that easily could be a factor in things.

As a Bucs fan, I think you perfectly hit the bullet points. Cannales was learning on the fly to be an offensive coordinator and got better towards the end of the season. Having a new experienced OC and most of the team back(we'll miss Barrett and won't miss Devin White) will help them be better than last year.

Whitehead was an underrated but key component to that Super Bowl defense. Alongside Winfield, he arguably makes our backfield more dangerous, even with the departure of Carlton Davis (who was dealing with more injury issues over last season).
