it's actually pretty accurate, a couple of missteps, like people were way more upset about Montez Sweat instead of trying for Chase Young at the time, and then the extension people nearly lost their minds. No matter where you were on the Fields/Williams debate, I think we can all agree that we're just happy to be in the "Bears are going to the Super Bowl" stage of the year again.

While I'm optimistic about the offense I'm still in my heart a defense first person. I'll be happier if we go 11-6 allowing 13 points per game than I would be going 13-4 allowing 30 points per game. That said if this offense is given a 13 point per game defense then we'll win way more than 11 games, ditto if the offense can win 13 games at 30+ points per game our defense will be fine.

This is a REALLY good depiction of how Bears fans felt. Just EXCELLENT capturing the flavor of the year from Chicago. Just a few things to add: - The early season mystery of the Bears D-coordinator fired for unspecified off-field reasons early in the season. - THe horrible non-blocking by chronically underachieving Chase Claypool. - That Lions loss was extra horrible because the Bears led by 12 with under four minutes to go. - Trading a 2nd rounder for Sweat brought up memories of last year trading a 2nd rounder for Chase Claypool. - Not only Devin Hester, but '85 Bear Steve McMichael (who is terrible health) also made the Hall of Fame. But you can't get everything (but if you're going to mention the HoF, there was that '85 Bear sitting there, too).

Also the Broncos loss was very painful, both teams were 0-3 to begin the season, the prior week the Bears lost 10-41 to the Chiefs and the Broncos 20-70 to the Dolfins, the Bears were winning 28-7 late in the third quarter, and they lost at Soldier Field to Russell Wilson coming from behind I consider that to be the lowest point I've felt as a Bears fan, and I've been through a lot

Matt Eberflus said *multiple times in post-game talks* that He Decided what plays to limit the offense to. When he called for Fields to not throw to certain receivers on certain plays you all said "they had to do that in order to simplify the offense for him." So he cancels the designed QB rushes that made them the #1 offense & continues with the order to not throw to certain receivers whether or not they get open, In Advance to I guess limit the amount of opportunities to pass on passing plays Fields has & you all blamed Fields for hanging onto the ball, not winning games the defense lost & not passing to open receivers. Like is Matt Eberflus your _Dad?_ *Then* there's the o-line play. This is the only team I know that doesn't bench their o-line players for missing their assignments. The Bears have been spotted running away from theirs & into their own linesmen. Presumably because PFF doesn't knock their grades for blocks they don't attempt, their grades look decent. It's like how a QB can get a better rating for throwing each pass into the ground, there's simply stuff missing from their calculations. Steelers fans chanted Matt Canada to the unemployment line, rightfully so just for being inept. You guys _had_ your Caleb already & supported your own HC actively sabotaging him.

I actually like Shane Waldron alot. Learned from Mcvay like Lafleur. Spent some time with Seahawks. Developing the craft on his own. If you watch his style. He can disguise plays with the best of coaches. You can't predict anything with the guy. And now he's got a confident QB and weapons. He loves 2 tight end schemes. So I think Everett and Kmet are going to eat. But, he should be able to scheme for our 3 star WR's as well. Every year I say it's going to be different and I'm heart broken. This year I just want to see us compete in the North. And I think we can do that.
