The civil war was not fought to free slaves. The civil war was fought to stop the southern states from seceding to Union of the United States, dismantling the country. Slaves were freed as a strategy to weaken the south and obtain more soldiers via freed slaves, as the Union Army was losing. So, no it wasn't a moral thing. It was political.

+John Wing Wo Slavery was a moral issue for some. However, it was an economic issue for the North as well as the South as many Northerners were concerned about the imbalance of economic and political power the free labor was providing to the Southern States. However, as a candidate Lincoln made it clear he had no intention to abolish slavery. Southerners didn't believe him and began seceding. Lincoln then stated he would do anything necessary to maintain the Union of the United States. The secession of the southern states was a threat to the future of the US as a World power. The Civil war was started to stop the confederate south from breaking the US up into smaller less powerful nations and taking their wealth with them. During the war the North was losing. Lincoln strategized that freeing the slaves in confederate states would weaken them and make a way for the Union army to secure more soldiers. After 200,000 + freed slaves joined the Union army the war turned around and the North
@peacefreedom49308 жыл бұрын
+John Wing Wo won. So, call me crazy but it seems those black soldiers played a significant role in saving the union of the United States. Had they not fought it is likely the United States would only consist of Northern States and would not be a world power as the massive wealth was generated from the southern crops of cotton, tobacco, and etc under free labor

Alma Heinrichs That was a sick evil thing to say to a woman no matter the race of the man that does it. They have a obsession with women being raped. Gohmert and several others can't stop talking about it. That gives me the thought that maybe they have committed the crime themselves and nobody had come forth to reveal the fact. Which brings me to Ms Tomi. She's wrong about this issue and the history of slavery but she omitted to mention what the role of women would be in this conservative utopia. The roles of White Women as the conservatives men would have them. She most definitely would Not be working. But she would be at home. Not single at the age she is now and she would be pledged to someone or married by age 16. Lucky if they allow her to finish highschool. But she would be At home, in a nightgown with no panties on, barefoot and pregnant, in the kitchen cooking with a toddler at her feet and another on her breast, ready to jump in bed to have sex anytime her husband demands it of her. An allowance only for household items, she may have a car to take the other children to school and pick them up and then maybe not. So while she's proud to say she's a far right white nationalist race hater and pray to have their conservative policies and principles in place to oppress others of another race, she and her fellow female conservatives need to take time out and realize just what that will mean for them as women. The black women are totally oxymoronic.

Lonnie Dobbins III I totally agree. Except I'm not entirely sure what you mean by your very last sentence. The man that said this to me lived in New Orleans where he said there existed not one person of color who wasn't criminal and that 100% of all murder and rape that went on there was perpetrated by black people and Hispanics alone. When I said he was being ridiculous and hateful and asked him to quit speaking in hyperbole, he asserted it wasn't hyperbole but fact. So I went on to provide actual documented facts with links at which point he got angry and said he hoped I was raped and murdered by a black man. As for woman conservatives, it seems so many don't care. Look at Ann Coulter she doesn't think woman should be able to vote. Insanity.

I am a white woman , and this girl makes me sick, she does not even have a clue what she is talking about . i used to be one of those clueless people, that think that just because they have not witnessed egregious acts against the African American community , black men in particular . that it was not as bad as people made it out to be . that was until 4 years ago, .I have had a African American family live next door to me for the last 15 years . about 4 years ago , they had someone break in to their home and rob them. Come to find out their 16 year old son was there when it happened . He heard them in the house , and knew instantly it was not any of his family, because they always let each other know where they are at all times. And when they are on their way home. When they got home , they found him in the basement under a fold out bed. I did not find out until weeks later through my son, that he never even called the police , while the robbers were there . I asked my son , why in heavens name did he not call the police . My son replied , ARE YOU CRAZY , THE CHANCES ARE THEY MAY HAVE ENDED UP SHOTING DEANDRE , INSTEAD OF THE ACTUAL ROBBERS !! The point I am trying to make is, that child was more afraid of the POLICE than the robbers !!!!!! HOW MANY OF YOU OUT THERE FACED WITH THE SAME SITUATION , WOULD RATHER TAKE YOUR CHANCES WITH A ROBBER, RATHER THAN THE POLICE ?

I'm sure there are cases like the one she is discussing but there are also cases where the victim did not reach for a weapon. With that provided there can be supported arguments but Tomi jumped straight into proving whatever opinion she has that didn't have anything to do with Jesse Williams speech.
@veronicabarrera37507 жыл бұрын
singularity_is_unstoppable Those are her comments based on what Tomi says in the video. Ana directly quotes Tomi and discusses the issue she has with what she said. She supports her point by using the part of Jesse Williams speech where he discusses that those not effected should sit down. False. That never happened. The democrats following the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments still oppressed blacks : in schools where blacks weren't allowed to attend with whites, blacks having different bus station waiting rooms, stores where blacks couldn't try on clothes or return clothes, etc. The southern democrats were pretty much democrats all through 1860 to 1964. Many people that argue the switch point to 1964 and the civil rights act ... but that still didn't switch anything. The entire switch is a hoax.
@BenjaminToby5 жыл бұрын
Libras In Space 1964 a the civil rights act is often very tricky. My advise is never get your information about this from lefties. Now in 1964 there was a divide between the parties caused by the proposed civil rights act : Goldwater who was republican vowed to veto it if he’s elected president. LBJ the Democrat and renowned racist supported it. The little detail missed here is Goldwater was never a racist : he always fought for civil rights of black when he was senator. His problem with the bill was that it contained elements which at that time, were unconstitutional. He made it clear that his dissent had nothing to do with racism : it was about the constitution and civil rights. This however didn’t stop people (dumb people actually) from thinking otherwise. The racist democrats seized on this perceived opportunity to continue their fights for racism, and voted Goldwater. That’s why the 1964 election maps shows a sharp turn in democrat votes. For the first time in over a century or so, the racist democrats voted republican. But this wasn’t because the republicans switched or nonsense like that. This was simply because of a bill with faulty and unconstitutional elements which Goldwater opposed. Leftist media will never tell you things like this. My advise, do your own study. The fact is there was never any switch. The republicans still maintained their ideals. Same with the dems. Just that the dems rebranded : looking closely, dems are still pretty obsessed with race. Republicans moved on a long time ago : racism doesn’t really bother them.
@mackhomie65 жыл бұрын
@@BenjaminToby I'm going to vote against the Heroin banning bill, not because I've been a Heroin addict for fifteen years, but because I have deep reservations about its constitutionality. And states rights. Fast forward a century or two and Benjamin Toby's great great great grandkids are going to repeat that like it's the gospel and not obvious horseshit. The fact is that the south is racist and even though there were a couple Democratic governors who supported slavery, they were the governors of southern states whose elected officials would necessarily be pro slavery regardless of party. Those same racist states now elect Republicans exclusively and have for a very long time.
@mackhomie65 жыл бұрын
You have to try very hard and dig really deep with a confirmation bias visible from space to make the case that it's _Republicans_ who have minorities' interests at heart and not the Democrats, however imperfect. I actually can't think of a single piece of legislation ostensibly for the benefit of blacks that wasn't _unanimously_ voted against by Republicans. They will sometimes (hilariously) vote down a bill to help African Americans because it "doesn't do _enough_ to help" them! Loool.

I've heard the ABSOLUTE racism & prejudice spewing from their HATEFUL mouths! and they get mad at me for calling them out as racist! Have you seen what black Democrats have to say about black republicans? C’mon. Don’t get me started on what Hispanic and asian families say about black people 😒 you can stereotype any group of people and say they hate any other group of people

The facts were great but 8:08 is probably the best part about the argument. Ana just obliterated the foundation on which Tomi's purpose of arguing is fundamentally on. Amazing. Everyone's values are important but Tomi argues that Jesse Williams' values are less important. It just seems like Tomi is stuck in this bubble of privilege thinking that Jesse Williams' values are less important because they clearly do not exists. But they do.

Minorities have fought and defended our freedoms in all, all wars. And even when treated like second rate or inhuman they still put there lives on the line for freedoms they themselves do not get to enjoy the full extent of those freedoms and yet still defend them. The lack of truth and the absolute hypocrisy is blatant.
