Trevor Noah is a very intelligent man. I see a lot of hate towards him, and I think that the people who really hated him are jealous of his success and hate the fact that there is an intelligent black South African man hosting a very popular show. And yes for those who want to go on this "biracial" rant, he is a black man. But that is besides the point. He speaks a lot of truth. And that fact that he has haters means that he is doing something right.

Carol Kelly Completely agree with everything you just said. To all his detractors who claim he knows nothing about U.S. politics, heres my two cents; Trevor Noah doesnt need to understand U.S. politics to be able to comment about it...whats really unique about him is that he brings an outsider's perspective and sheds a distinctive light on the absurdity of political happenings there...because thats truly how the rest of the world views the poloitical shenanigans in the U.S today, after Trumps election as President.

I wish Trevor would see this but... 25 years ago my high school tried to start an anti apartheid group and invited a prominent African Canadian to come speak to us and he told us we had it all wrong. We needed to be the voice (as white Canadian youth) for our fellow Native First Nations. It was the last time we met as a group. As 16 year olds we longed to help a group "romanticized " in movies at the time but couldn't face our own nation's hatred and injustice. I regret that to this day and try to hold it as an example of needing to grow even as an adult towards greater acceptance and inclusion every day.

Race is the fundamental structure that shapes the American society. Everything thing in America is about race. Race have a significant effect on everything, literally. From politic, education, economics, and even the demographics of big to small city is shaped by the history of race and racism. quite frankly, we don't talk enough about race. There should be a compulsory class from 1st grade to 10th grade on race and racism in America. Telling people to stop talking about race is like telling people to stop talking about the huge elephant in the room that is literally breaking everything and hope it goes away.

Not only condescending smiles. Also asked about " being half white, is that your confidence comes from?! " so Trevor gave the answer that she deserved: " even people who consider themselves completely liberal and progressive, you will find that times betray a moment they don't accept and a moment of intolerance. "
@Shannnnnnnnnnnnn8 жыл бұрын
Wow this lady was being an asshole to him. Telling him he's a crime, his mother threw him out of the car, and that his mother fed him caterpillars. I'd like to see her look like Trevor and grow up in Trevor's home place. She was trying to be so racist to Trevor without coming off as racist. Only talking about racism against him and how he's unaccepted.

Really Bro Trevor wrote a book saying those things you are saying she said to him. That was his experience growing up in South Africa. He was invited to the show to talk about his interview with Tomi and most especially, his book. She is not being racist.
@lyricystx8 жыл бұрын
@Really Bro There you go proving the Oswald Cobblepot guy below's point which I happen to disagree with by the way. You can't go around seeing racism in every single thing. Everything she asked him was based off the book he wrote. There was something about the way she was questioning him that i didn't like bit nonetheless, I don't think she was trying to be racist here.

He did a terrible job interviewing her. She said BLM is rioting, looting, vandalizing, and what do the KKK do? The actual answer is that they're a fringe group without many members or branches, so they don't do much. But I think the answer she was looking for was "rioting, looting and vandalizing." I think that the point she was trying to make is that the actions of BLM are what matter, and what they say does not matter. It doesn't matter if you say you hate black people or love black people, if you're rioting and breaking laws, you are the bad guy. Also, the Truth and Reconciliation commission that Trevor Noah is talking about is straight out of 1984. He is literally speaking out in favour of thought control. You can deny anything you want, and if you want to convince someone something is true, you need to give them evidence, not tell them to shut up!

people need knowledge of self. Meditate and tihnk about your life. With that and the intention of becoming aware of your defects and qualities, you start evolving. Its that simple. So, to have a conversation with someone who holds an opposing view, it is hard for the untrained (and most are) because your views are ALREADY condemning and deemed offensive by the other party.
