I knew it! As soon as I saw the watch I knew it. James MCCabe is another brand owned by Dartmouth Brands. Dartmouth also owns AVI-8, Spinnaker, Ernshaw, DUXOT, Dufa, Ballast, Cadola, and others. Dartmouth has a London address, but they are really owned by Solar Time Ltd in Hong Kong. Solar Time also owns the factory that produces the watches and they also produce watches under contract for other brands. I suspect that Watch Gang contracts with Solar Time to make production runs of product made to Watch Gang’s specifications (I.e., cost) for distribution to its subscribers. That’s how they can offer these “great deals” and still remain in business. It’s also why you get so many Dartmouth brand watches from them and why the watches you receive are “sold out” when you look for them during your review process.

It's one thing to buy a watch, and someday decide you want to put it on a NATO for a while (maybe to spend the day on the lake or whatever), but for a brand new watch to come with only a canvas strap out of the box (especially when it costs *_four hundred dollars_* and has a no-name movement), is really disappointing.
