Sure, dude. That's why I've tactically analysed the market before getting myself a second rig. And ended up choosing Remo Hobby Dinosaurs. Being a Slash derivative - it's not sturdy enough to get out-of-hand with bashing, but I'm also not a huge fan of this "15 minutes on range - a month waiting for parts" use cycle. But when the pros come... When you need those parts - there are all the Slash derivatives (five Remo Hobby mods and numerous Traxxas variations) to offer you catalogues. You just can't run out of spares. Not to say that it requires them too often - half a year of ripping around ended up requiring just some preventative maintanence except for the driving gear in the rear diff. The body didn't take it too well, but otherwise - not a single major breakdown. Also factory CVDs last a couple of months or so, but they're there just for you to wait untill some telescopes arrive anyway, cause their fixed length severely limits suspensions configureability. Amounts of tuning are also proportional - you just have to double check compatibility and choose wisely.

7:26 the ballooning tires. I think we're at the point where they're going to have to start producing belted tires for R/C to prevent that. They don't have to go with steel mesh like full sized vehicles but they're going to have to start doing something with the speeds being achieved.....
@wordreet11 ай бұрын
Agreed!!!!!!
@insanebmxthomas11 ай бұрын
get ready for 30 dollar tires then lmao. I don't know a lot but... bike tires are fabricated with nylon casings. I reckon that's a much more expensive production process. Maybe glued inserts would work just as well. If you take an old worn bike tire, you could just cut it up, and glue a layer of that nylon casing tire to the inside of your RC tire. Much cheaper and probably as strong. The glue we use to fix flat tubes on bicycles is some kind of vulcanizing compound or w/e, when used properly, it 'fuses' the two prepped layers together. That's what i would do if i owned an RC that balloons a lot
@insanebmxthomas11 ай бұрын
or maybe even just some contact glue, nylon thread, and more contact glue along the inner tire? Just an idea 🤷♂ or better yet, they sell some kind of fibrous plastic rim strips for bmx wheels that don't stretch and you could probably hang your full weight on there. If you manage to glue that into your tire it's malleable, light, and super strong.

@alantaylor35311 ай бұрын
I'm not sure about that proprietary hub/hex spline thingy... If there are no holes to fit pins through you're going to be limited to using their own hex adaptors... It would be good if they gave you some 12mm ones in with the car. You're screwed if you want to fit 12mm to 17mm adaptors.! If it took a kicking like that on a 9 degree day then it's a tough rig.! Apart from the hexes.. "What a cool little truck".! 😉 😉 Btw.. Bring back "What a cool little truck"... That was almost your catchphrase for a while, I was expecting to see T-shirts with it on.!
