Thanks Tomlin for this lesson, I liked it pretty much. Once again you teach things that are really practical and the best of all, tips that you don't read in books. Greetings from Bogota, Colombia!!!

Great lesson Tomlin 👍 I like it with the D harp. I have a question for you Tomlin: I had the impression that the +5 blow is not in the Blues scale. But it is played in the lick. So can you play notes that are outside in de Blues scale.

Hi Tomlin, Could you please post vids re: instruction/lessons on how to play in the minor keys? Since many bands I sit in with play blues in minor keys, ie A minor, I'm "left out & stupid"! Thanks!
@TomlinHarmonica7 жыл бұрын
+Al Boeck hi Al, anything with the blues scale will work as that is a minor scale :-)

Tomlin here where a live (Bogota Colombia) there are no teachers to learn to play harmonica blues, the little I know is from book and youtube. I was wondering if you could please do a class about Syncopation (excersises), I've seen you emphasis locking in to the beat and many licks are played in the offbeat. Ive search for lessons and only you and Addam Gassow mention it but theres no exercise to practice this theme. Thank you.

Any tips for play consecutive draw notes? I have a problem with this.
@TomlinHarmonica7 жыл бұрын
+Henry Cooper hi Henry, you need to do them all in one breath but just moving the harmonica. If it is the same note repeated you will need to articulate it with your tongue by saying "too-too". Hope that helps

Which harmonica would you recommend? The suzuki olive or the promaster Hammond?
@TomlinHarmonica6 жыл бұрын
Probably the Olive - they are super airtight. That said, I would recommend the Promaster to a beginner as they are more forgiving.

Hey love your videos and God your a smooth player. You taught me to bend with your vids and I'm forever grateful for it! My girlfriend however??? My question today is what harp should I buy after a C? I have seen your video but kinda wanted a personal answer if you would be so kind! I play a special 20 and its greats but rubs a little and can be slightly uncomfortable so would also like to know what you recommend as a good replacement for that kind of money? I know you play a manji but it's a little costy tbh. Also while I'm posting I have picked up some bad habits and now play harp almost vertically :/ is this detrimental to my progress and will it stress or damage the reeds because of a different angle when bending? Will it effect the sound of bends? Thanks for your time in advance and for the effort you put in to teaching in your videos there's a lot of newbies who owe you I imagine!

I kinda like the sound of a G harp or A harp and definitely am swaying towards one of these as I need that soulful feel while playing! Btw your cover of Georgia on my mind is deep that's my kind of stuff

+Callum Spencer hi Callum, glad you like the lessons :-) I would recommend getting an A or a D harmonica next. As long as you have the tilting up then you have nothing to worry about. I would recommend Hohner Crossover to try next if you don't fancy the Manji. Keep up the good harmonica work!

Thanks for the swift reply bromie yehhhh probably gonna be A harp next sounds so sweet! I'll have a browse today under your advice. Pheew at least I won't be busting reeds every weeks was scared! Bless you harp brother x

Hey Tomlin, here I am again. Going to meet some old high school friends and one friend is gonna bring a violin. He asked '''if we could jam together". I´ve played along with a guitar, but a violin? I´m curious, could it work?
@TomlinHarmonica7 жыл бұрын
+Vitor Angelo hi Vítor - sounds like fun! It's worth trying out. I've heard people jamming on all sorts of instruments. Should be good! Let me know how you get on :-)

Hi tomlin. I just wanted to know if you can use suzuki promaster reeds on a suzuki olive?
@TomlinHarmonica6 жыл бұрын
Hi David, they will fit but in my opinion they are not as good quality as the Olive/Manji reeds.
