Wow, that was a long ride I would’ve been dead tired at halfway through. Thanks for the awesome show. I definitely like moguls if you can add more tips going down them as a beginner definitely appreciated

Just got back from Keystone! It took 4.5 hours because of a rock slide on i70 but it was worth it. Got my first side hit(s) today, and really started feeling good riding switch. The feeling of progressing in snowboarding, I'm assuming it's what crack feels like. Also I listened to Willax's Bombhole episode while stuck in traffic, worth a listen, dude's awesome. Also also, thanks again for driving home knee steering, its ingrained in my head now and has helped a lot.

Although the downhill was sick, the camera person is honestly so talented to keep up and adjust on the fly while focusing on the shot and especially at 7:38 . Well done!!!

This was fun to watch because I used to ride Keystone a lot. Lived on the front range from 2005 to 2018. Miss the big mountains a lot. Especially this year as the snow in VT is bleak. But riding is riding and my 5 year old gets better every week. Keep up the good videos and glad to see you emphasize safety as well as the fun factor.

Question! When you're free riding on mountains and hitting small side hits with frontside 180s, would you rather hit them off your toe or heel edge?
@creekboi7
@creekboi7 Жыл бұрын
Depends, frontside or backside? Generally people jump off the heels for front side and toes for back side, theres exceptions for everything though.
@koalafro
@koalafro Жыл бұрын
@@creekboi7 yeah i usually do frontsides following my leading edge, so toe edge for frontside and heel for backside but i started doing the toe to toe frontside 180s exercise tommie recommends. i started to get the feel of the momentum, only thing was it was on flat ground.. I'm just curious to see how that may transfer on a small side hit before i go out and try it.. I'm in the East coast btw so i usually have to do a lot of planning for exercises on the mtn before riding because I usually don't ride as much as i want.

I really can tell that you are taking calculated risks. Your style is so precise and it is obvious that you are thinking about everything you do. I am having the same attitude on the slopes and this is mostly because of an ACL injury I had. I would rather be an intermediate rider all my life rather than risking not being able to snowboard. Obviously you are a really advanced rider, pro level like, but you have so much time on snow that taking no risks works out for you very well.

Love this style of video, would be nice also if maybe you showed a bit of how to navigate around whatever mountain you are on like maybe the names of the runs, what chairlifts etc. from personal experience it can be quite overwhelming just to navigate a bigger resort let alone try to improve your skills. Thanks Tommie!

They have some smart ass people there this started in the hotel I was called thor then hulk then the 2 guys said "they can't see me" I could see how a collision could occur I can't manuver as well in tight quarters and it takes me longer to stop. They might want to watch traffic uphill very closely

I do agree, moguls are awesome. A single mogul rield is like a reservoir of infinite snake runs, with and without jumps thrown in and its up to you to find the most fluid andlar enjoyable ones. Thus besides what you said, it also is a test for four route finding/planning turns ahead skills, much like riding trees or freeriding. (Except that if you fail, you only run over a big ass steep mogul you wanted to avoid instead of hitting a tree or rock)
