I used to be known in our family,community and the different jobs I have worked at for my cooking and baking. Not for any reward or bragging but that when I started out I was poor and needed to make things from scratch and that I loved making good wholesome food for my family and friends. My Grandmother was a southern woman who raised me and I watched her cook and learned so much from her, the most important being saying the "Table Grace", asking GODs blessing on what HE has given us. I am disabled now and I cook sitting in a small office chair. I have taken 3or4 recipes for homemade yogurt and made one that my 83 year old Mother and the rest of our family loves. But not to take away from you "This looks amazing and the video is wonderfully made. You have done a fantastic job, but as a dear Christian Aunt of mine used to say, " Love makes work easy". I love your families videos, they do help ease my pain. Thank you

Wow that is an amazing story. It is sad that as a culture we have gotten away from prayer so much. I think being thankful is the ultimate key to life, I was going to do a video on that very topic. It seems like you already got it down ;) I think we tried home made yogurt but did not have much success if I recall, I will bet yours is amazing.

Thank you for sharing your recipe!! I was laughing at your precise measuring and your pizza oven. I think it is great that you make pizza for the family every Thursday.

my first job was at pizza hut. The pan pizza dough comes as frozen discs. The back of house staff oil the pans, spray release over the outside and shove them in an electric proofer. We used speed rings to prevent cheese and sauce going near the edge. You do a mighty grand job of making pizza and it rivals that of pizza hut. Try making the cheesy bites. I can walk you through it. I cant believe I still remember it was 19 years ago I started work there.

I adore the Pizza Hut dough, I really dislike dry powdery/floury crusts, but the Pizza Hut crust is fried, and I loooove that!! I just watched Eden's birthday party video, and I was struck by something I felt compelled to share with you & Andrea. I came across her account by accident and I am so tickled that I clicked on it. I am so awestruck by how great y'all are at parenting. Your kiddos are always so polite and that secret Samaritan thing your kids do is an excellent idea. I've been praying that the Lord blesses you with as many children and perhaps adopted or foster children when you are done with having your own, since y'all are such great parents! People probably say that you're lucky but I say your kids are lucky, and yours are the type of good kids who grow up to be great adults/contributors to society. Bless you all, and give little Miss Eden a birthday hug from Ms. O!! love and prayers

Oh, I just remembered something. I was my daughter's girl scout troop back when she was a Daisy Scout (the first level). Being kindergarten age, the girls were considered too young for cookie selling and camp outs, so I always had to scramble around looking for activities other than just arts and crafts, so I took them on field trips to science and art museums, but their very favorite one (which they still remember and are all about 32 y/o) is the time I arranged with the manager of a local Pizza Hut to open early and teach the kids about the pizza business and the whole process from ordering, to making, to serving. the girls each got to make their own pizzas, and they all still love Pizza Hut fried crust. Thank you for this video, delightful as usual. Come to Texas some time and I will make you some BBQ brisket and you can make your crust and we'll have BBQ pizza!

I'm sure you know this Andrea.....(and Tom) but those "store" brands are made at the same factories where Bayer Aspirin, Tylenol, Advil, etc. I always purchase the store brands for pretty much everything, but there are a "few" exceptions I'll admit. I just made this and the crust is amazing! I can't believe how it turned out on the bottom. I definitely need to find some better quality cheese for next time
@TomMillsFamily8 жыл бұрын
Good Job! Yes the crust makes it amazing no matter what. Before I had the diner order us cheese we had some success with whole milk mozzarella. One of the things you can do is maybe cook with it covered longer, and then uncover it for only 2 or 3 minutes. Regular cheese from the store just burns and dries out too fast. I also considered spraying the top lightly with a water bottle once in a while through cooking to deal with the problem.

Thank you for this! I have been waiting patiently since Andrea first posted a delicious looking picture of your pizza. Yummy! Pizza Hut deep dish is one of my favorites, so I can't wait to try this. I probably won't be quite so exact, lol, but there are a lot of good tips here. I would have never guessed it needed that much oil in the pan, but I am not surprised since their pizza is so good, haha. We have a Pizza Hut carry-out just a 1/4 of a mile from us (they are few and far between here), but they are not very consistent in quality. We kept getting under-cooked pizzas, so we stopped ordering from them.

Love this! How big of a pizza is it? I may have missed you saying the size. From the looks of it, this would feed my husband alone! I can't wait to try making it. If you ever make it to Michigan, I suggest trying a place called Cottage Inn pizza in the southwest part. They make amazing pizza as well. Also, kudos on watching Naruto! We are big animé fans here. We watch in Japanese with English subtitles, and it helps with those kids who are learning Japanese as well!

Yep! They are 16" pizzas, much larger than the biggest pizza you can get at a regular pizza place, they are alco about an inch thick, so a little goes a long way. We also have a few kids who dont like cheese, and so we make the bread sticks and they fill up on them. We may eventually need to make two however as the boys grow to teens.
