Tommo Webber has to be placed at number two with 163 races for Jaguar/Red Bull. A team changed in only name and ownership, but a lot of the mechanics and engineers Mark worked with would have been the same, influencing his decision to return when things didn’t work out at Williams. To add to the case for this, when DC joined Red Bull (who we’re still technically Jaguar when he signed) he did a test in the Jaguar first of all before being given a Red Bull once the new season kicked in. Has to be classed as the same team surely

With his long term contract until 2028, he can easily be at P1 or P2 by the end of his career (depending on how long Lewis will continue at Mercedes and whether he'll actually remain a driver at Red Bull for 5 more years). @callumscott9533 жыл бұрын
I think this should have been done as a percentage of seasons with a minimum of 6 seasons raced. That way your list doesn't favour new drivers who have more races or allow for drivers who only spend 1 or 2 seasons in F1. Its a more accurate representation in my opinion. For example Mika Hakkinen spent 11 seasons in F1, 9 at McLaren and 2 at Lotus for a percentage loyalty of 81.8%.
@cavcaptor3 жыл бұрын
This is an interesting debate about loyalty vs staying where the going's good. Easy to stay loyal to a team on top (WEB at RBR, MSC at Ferrari, HAM at Mercedes), to me, loyalty is like Perez at Force Racing Martin, devoting time and energy to a team that isn't on the top.
@bigslydoc3 жыл бұрын
It’s certainly the drivers have done the most races for one specific team but I don’t think you could say that that breeds loyalty per se. I’m sure Jean Eric Vergne would have jumped at the chance to go to a bigger team rather than stay at Toro Rosso out of loyalty. I think you need to look at the percentage of races for one team rather than the number of races total but also the relationships that a driver has with that team or that team’s principal. If you were to ask me who the most loyal driver in F1 history is I don’t think you could say anybody other than Jim Clark and Lotus. He races entire career to Lotus in Formula One as well as junior formulae, At the Indy 500 and in sports cars. The relationship that Clarke had with team manager Colin Chapman is legendary.
