Excluding the Yasutokos is a crime! They probably transended rollerblading more than any other bladers ever. They are the undisputed reference for what's possible on a vert ramp and have earned the respect of vert fans and riders accross all disciplines

Very legit list. It’s always hard to narrow down and goats and faves are always different. Nils Jansons, Soichiro Kanashima, Vinny Minton, Murda, CK and SK, Iain McLeod, Eugen Enin, Sagona and RJ could have challenged for a spot in the goats. Top ten steez list would be a sick vid, Cheshire, Kochetkov, Benavides, Goto, Quinny, Burston, O’Brien, Ito, Casals, Mosselmans, Zaytsev, Makruskin all in contention for me.

I wouldn’t have been more impressed had I met the 1992 USA dream team. These guys were real life super hero’s to me. Despite Aaron Feinberg won the comp with a death defying trick…. Bailey definitely not top 10, he doesn't have the same large trick vocab as others. Eisler is fantastic but not as influential as Stockwell. Sizemore definitely has a place in top 10.

Pausing the video at the Haffey portion to say that it might have to be Chris as the goat to do it so well on the street and to STILL be doing mind bending stuff on Mega that noone else can do.

You probably won't see this, Tom, but Frankie actually had his own video game. There was this flash game which had never ending stair sets which you could do tricks using your keyboard. It was actually pretty fun and captured his low-down style.

I was getting a little nervous until the end the whole time I was wondering about Dustin and Aaron . I met Aaron and Randy Spizer in 1999. I worked in ASA tour in Boston. Back then he was a little shit but all the girls hanging around were sweating him big time . I started skating in 1998 till about 2007 .. I drifted away from skating due to girls and bad life choices . Now that I married with kids, I find myself watching rollerblading videos randomly to bring me back to what I consider the best time in my life! Close to perfect list if you ask me👍

Tier 1: Haffey Aragon Latimer Shima Tier 2: Feinberg Broskow Bolino Boekhorst Yasutoko's Farmer Julio Edwards Eisenberg Tier 3: Khris Morales Spizer Bailey Stockwell Da Silva Grob Livingston Enin As far as historical significance in no particular order except for tier 1 imo. Skill-wise people will debate forever about who is the GOAT (imo its Haffey with Aragon and Latimer). Heck some days I talk myself into it being Aragon. Latimer is an engima that very well could be the best but for longevities sake he cant be the goat imo.

Hard to argue with this list. Would have had an honourable mention for Fabiola - she changed the game for women's skating forever and to this day is one of the best. But more than just skating really well, i think she (with a few others, like Tasha) positively impacted male attitudes towards women's skating right at the very beginning and because of that it normalised women's participation in rollerblading. (not saying it's perfect, but it feels like rollerblading has more respect for the women in the game than other action sports or activities i know)
@TomMoyse
@TomMoyse 2 жыл бұрын
Agree with you sentiments on Fabiola - she would come under a different list of important figures, maybe most influential or something like that where we can talk about there impact I think Dawn played a huge part as well. The list would also have people like Julio, Arlo, Edwards etc

Pretty much agree. Might drops Stockers off the list for a Euro blader. But Latimer will always be the GOAT in my eyes. Others that didn’t get a mention or careers were cut short due to injuries. Rob Guerrero for IMYTA wins Hooi, Chaz and Oli for doing the same tricks on British spots Rob Thompson Chris Cheshire Cudot is probably on the list for the future for me. Especially after Nass and Fise. Struggling to think of others but the list is endless. Maybe an Idea to do streets, park, Vert (including results) separately. Then look who kills it on all 3 and I’m guessing Sven and a handful of others would be in with a shout of the top 10.

Where’s Sven? Cool to see these old bladers that fucked off right when the money went as well, but I prefer my heroes heroic. Farmer, Broskow, Franky, Montre Et al all have one thing in common besides being kings on blades, they never turned their backs on blading. And afaik no one skates all terrain so well and effortlessly as Sven Boekhorst. Who else has 3 full length skatevideos with just him in it?? My 2 cents. Loved the episode Tom.
