I wish people would pay better attention to what I said. At no point did I say anything negative about the band. I reiterated what other critics have said about them in the past. I happen to enjoy the band and have gladly listened to how they’ve matured as artists. Anyone taking my goodnatured jokes about things like “how tight are his pants, his voice went up another half-octave”… get over yourselves, they’re called jokes. Two years later and some of you still have no sense of humor.

I'm 55 years old. Grew up in the 70s. It is refreshing to see such young talent bring back the 70s rock sound so well. I'm so impressed. Heck of a lot better than garbage music of today. Thank you GVF!!! God has truly blessed you all. Can't wait for the next release.

I couldn’t agree more I hate all the crap people release today just to make money these guys are doing it because they truly love the music, and you can tell. No band has sounded this good in years, and I hope it encourages others to start bringing the rock and roll back. It has true meaning whereas the stuff today is about girls, boys, drugs, death, and sex. I don’t care how much money you spend. Sing about something real!

He really needs to take care of his vocal cords. That voice is one in a million. Reminds me of the greatest vocalist of all time Freddie Mercury.

Me either. In 5 or 10 years his vocals will be in prime condition. Can't wait to hear him sing then. He don't have Freddie's Charisma but come on.....were talking about the greatest vocalist of all time...the great Freddie fucking Mercury. RIP Freddie. But this kid is the best rock vocalist I've heard in 35 years.

I feel like the difference here is that sure, it's still clearly influenced by Zepplin and similar artists.. but the way he's using his voice seem to use the growl sparingly in his songs and the pitching his tone and range up and down in that yodel-y thing kind of gives me an indie rock vibe. They definitely have come into their own as far as developing a slightly more original sound. And yes, I think in some songs he does adopt a higher pitch, it gives it a pleasant effect when he drops it back down consistently. He's flaunting his range in a different way than he did before and it makes the finished product sound so cool. 😄

You might find some of the other songs on the record more to your liking. Josh is in the rafters when he sings, but this song is a vocal showcase. (And we love it!) But all their songs have a unique, individual vibe. I recommend Age of Machine off of the Battle. Or go look at their newest album 'Starcatcher', and start with Holding Up the Falling Sky. 😉❤️

this particular song is an older song that could have gone on the previous album. Think they said in recent reviews that it was written and/or recorded 5 years ago. Not sure if vocals/music were re-recorded for this album. Josh's vocals are so piercing that it overshadows some songs for better or for worse. This song for better.
