He makes the most of his vocal abilities as much as anyone I've heard in my sixty years. Love him or hate him, his vocal abilities are uncanny. As a band, I think they are stellar and we may overlook the other members because of his voice.

I feel like Josh’s voice is higher and has way better technique than Plant. Josh was able to be taught how to preserve his voice very well because that tone is incredibly strenuous on your vocal chords. Robert blew his voice out pretty early in his career, Josh’s voice will last the entirety of his life, therefore he has more room to prefect and grow.

These guys are my favorite, they have quite an extensive catalog that you need to hear. I will give you some awesome suggestions. I will send you a message. They are known for amazing guitar solo's. Of course the sound they started with was their influences, but even Robert Plant said he liked Josh's voice. There are so many songs, and great live versions I can't put them all down here. You'll see. Josh is not only the singer, but he writes most the songs. You might prefer their more hard rock songs, I will send you a list. As always love your reactions.

This kid can sometimes sound like Geddy Lee, Freddie Mercury, and of course, Robert Plant. He’s very special. That you can actually ‘feel his love’ when he sings, “can you feel my love?” That’s the magic every singer wants. He has it in spades. And they’re still so, so young. I think we’re witnessing something special.

If you want another newer band to check out, then I think you will like Kaleo. Icelandic band who started in 2012 heavily influenced by American Delta blues andTexas blues primarily. Kaleo is Hawaiian for "the voice". J.J.'s vocals are totally unique and out of this world. They also have videos in very unique places like in a volcano ('Way Down We Go') and outside an erupting volcano('Skinny'). A great first listen is 'No Good' live filmed at United Record Pressing Nashville.

These guys are exactly what the bland over produced, over quantize'd, over auto-tuned music scene needs right now. They are the youngest old souls in music I have seen in years. They have all the style, charisma , and musical integrity of the rock of the 70's ,but are giving it a taste of modern spice. Re-introducing a musically clueless generation to real raw talent, real song writing , and musical prowess. My suggestion to all the young musicians out there . Better pay close attention to these fellas. While so many are out there trying to be the next one night wonder , or flash in the pan social media superstar. These guys are giving you lessons in how to be the next musical Legends!!

However, Danny has written several lead guitar solos with Jake. Sam contributes multi-instrumentally & conceptually. Uggghhh. @@jodibennett-bradshawrbtmph836 Hello. Guessing I'm older than you also a musician..First of all, I complemented them by saying they have become more original. The difference between Zeppelin and majorty of acts from the 60's & 70's is they were students of black blues and other styles outside of just rock from around the world ) whereas GVF are students of 70's acts. The connection to the blues has been lost. The main issue I have is modern guitarists. When you heard a Jimmy Page or David Gilmour you immediately knew it was them. Guitarists today don't have near the soul and tone. I know you'll disagree but Jake does not have the Stature, notoriety and influence that a Jimmy Page did. Not even close. That being said they are coming into their own as writers and this track does not sound nearly as derivite as "their" previous work. It's a great song.. As a huge fan you can disagree but are you versed in early blues soul, funk jazz, indigenous music from around the world 🌎? I have been studying and immersed in these art forms since the late 80's.

When the Curtain Falls is probley there best song, to me anyway. Yeah Josh is bringing the yodel back to singing, not very many can pull that off but he does it pretty well. Sometimes I wonder if he is doing it to much of the time. If you give it to people less, then they want more, but all time, it losses that special quaility, I think. Their Bassist is good and hes better on keys than John Paul Jones. Theres that. I saw them last night in Nashville. The led zeppelin comparison is BS. Ive seen Zeppelin twice. Yeah, that voice is just thin and grating. I don't hate it, but there's nothing there. And none of the songs are that unique or interesting, all rather mundane throwaways. You can't compare them to Zep in any way, shape, or form, far inferior. They get my complete and total ignore. 😂

Plant can’t hit those notes. And Josh’s yodel is not like any other.
