2024 I have heard vlatko for the very first time. I had a stay in the writers and translates centre rhodes. Tina Makotta gave me the cd with "Gypsy Music". Now , 20 years later, it is one of my favourite songs. Thanks Tina, thanks Vlatko.😊

When 2 great musicians play together, the magic they perform is almost too beautiful to bear.

One of the very very few players who can make me just Laugh out loud for his moments of sheer artistry and elegance.

I used to do a lot of work with Stephen and so he was at our home a lot. Two things about Stephen, he was always making me laugh with his unusual humor and he ALWAYS had a guitar either in his hand or within a few feet. That guy wouldn't be at my home more than five minutes, before he would instruct me to grab my guitar and we would start playing something. I had the pleasure of playing with him on stage some, in fact, one night I played one of his tunes and he worked up a harmony part to it in just a few minutes, which was amazing. I believe we did "Ladybird" together. He was a lot of fun to be around and I miss him. He flew down to visit me while I was sick, a few years back, which was very kind of him to do.

Tommy's embellishments at the start are just brilliant. Octave harmonics and fake tremelo....

That's guitar playing. Totally in control and everything was served up on a golden platter. The harmonics were great, harmonies, solo.... tempo.... Only thing not great was that huge tray falling during the song. :)

+TruthSurge that would make it the Kintsugi version.
@TruthSurge8 жыл бұрын
+Karl Lew no idea what that is.

+TruthSurge apologies for bad spelling. The Japanese art of Kintsugi fills and fixes broken ceramic with gold, turning breakage into lovely art. Their warm smile was, like liquid gold, the binder that melded that tray seamlessly into the absolutely beautiful piece. 😀

+Karl Lew Ok. Well, they certainly were shocked by the loud intrusive sound and yet they had to downplay it and get back to their tune. A lot like ignoring a heckler and just keep on doing your thing. That's music gigs, for you. Crap happens.
@KarlLew0018 жыл бұрын
+TruthSurge yes, exactly. I thought the piece was wonderful when I first heard it. When you pointed out the tray the piece became absolutely beautiful and I will always remember it with the same respect I accord the WWII "Keep Calm and Carry On" posters. I shall also give up playing guitar in despair (jk)
