@@swingmanu9969 Savoir vivre de quoi?? I love Emmanuel but Josho is definitely more skilled, watch any of his videos, the guy is just an alien, maybe the best guitar player alive. " If you know the style, you can see that Joshko doesn't do too much, to not emphasize the difference. savoir vivre". Can you explain me this sentence please? You are saying that he's emphasizing too much his style. Have a good day!
@swingmanu9969
@swingmanu9969 4 жыл бұрын
@@OjoRojo40 Don' t answer too fast! No matter what Tommy Emmanuel plays, he always makes it sound good, or preferably "good enough". He has a trademark sound of his own, but he shares the stage playing other styles, where he's not as good. In doing this, he take chances... In return, Joshko manages to not play his most demonstrative style, so Tommy will not look bad... That's what I call "le savoir vivre" : make sure everybody feels fine when you're in a good position. And, last but nor least, I couldn't care less who's the best guitarist in the world, and who's not... By the way, there's one thing you may not know: these very fast and furious manouche styled guitarists are a hundred per cent better in non-professionnal conditions , because the quality of the pickups or mics imposes them fast playing, when acoustic(or low amplification) conditions allow them the soulful slow playing that is lacking in their shows. It's not just about speed...

These guys are masters, they know where the notes are, how to get to them, why they are the notes, how to use them, and they oscillate between picking the melodies they hear in their minds and letting the technique choose the notes. You know, this is one of my favorite songs... Every so often I find it again, being played beautifully... it makes me so happy.

Love this video, watched it ten times but only now have I noticed that this is actually some kind of perfect mix between Tommy Emmanuel's western/american bluesy way of playing (lots of bending, long notes and so on) and Joscho Stephan's eastern european way of playing (much more picking, django's and gypsy's style). It's perfect, just perfect, and love the wink to king in the mountain hall :DDD

Whoa. We all know what a complete music master Tommy is (and I could and do listen to him daily!), but Joscho also deserves a hand for how fluidly he plays around the 3:20 mark.

Hand offs are seamless. Both guitars are so different in tone they complement each other. The harmonics stuff is nice.
