Hello David, you know, this song is as special to me as "the price "was for you. Gary Moore was one of my first albums I bought back in the 80's and this song is so much in my heart. What Tommy did with this song, for me, was like ... I can't describe it. It hit me like a bus. I haven't heard it in a long time in I started to cry the second I heard the guitar. Tommy did this song more than justice and Gary would have been proud. By the way, I don't think Tommy plays the trombone 😁

I'm not sure how to describe this. The best thing about all of TJ's covers is that even though they show off his amazing guitar playing and vocals, they always serve the song, rather than bing just about the display of his skills, and that makes him a great musician. I had the pleasure to experience Gary Moore live in the 90's. i bought the tickets as birthday present for my wife, who played E-guitar, too - memories, R.I.P. I'm still waiting for your reaction on Thommy's cover to ANTHEM.Written by Benny/Bjorn/T.Rice for CHESS Rock opera.It's his fave one cause as he said he had learned that song in order to perform it at the age of 15 in front of the whole school at his very first time(if i remember well)And he did it fine,so he's got nice memories as a child from this experience.

Ok my two cents, this must be the best cover of empty rooms on KZbin, said that... For who doesn't know the original song, this cover is not even close to the original (empty rooms live from Stockholm). I mean it's perfect every note is played perfectly but really you can feel it's not like Gary's touch (obviously), I don't know maybe Gary played the spacing between some notes with some upbeat that gives more punch to the phrasing, let alone the tone of the guitar. If you play the song with a perfect timing it won't sounds as good as the original, that's the point imho, imprecisions or volunteer timing modification (the player touch) made the solo much better on the original and sounds much more passionate than every cover. This cover is beautifully done but sounds kinda sterile like every other Gary moore fan's covers. I'm not here to criticize this cover, which is very good, I'm here to do you guys a favor... Listen to the original.
