Tommy Rondonkis was always the most interesting guest The Footy Show had on. Not only was he the most interesting, but he had by far the most personality. An absolute gem of a man. The young blokes today are an absolute bore to listen to.

Oh Tommy that's a real Rugby League person and Community man. I loved him when he went into bat for Alf Langer for the QLD Jersey and when he coached Ipswich and Wests. PS I remember when he went around Campbelltown to motivate the Western Suburbs residents to turn up and Watch the Broncos that Friday night back in 1998.

When Johnny Gibbs played his first big game for Manly it was against Wests and Tommy was the opposing half back. The first time Tommy tackled Johnny, he bit Johnny on the nose quite hard. Johnny had skin hanging off his nose, blood pouring out, etc. Johnny complains to the referee, "Raudonikis just bit me on the nose!!" Referee's response ? "Welcome to first-grade, son." RIP Tommy. Great man.

He is not just a Rugby league person he is very Community minded he is still one of the few who had the ability to bring the two together he may be a rough Diamond but be breaks down social barriers and that is rare a good Quality in a person,my heart really went out to him when he lost a grandchild in a Junior game of League and it showed us the human side to him and iam glad the media left his family to grieve in peace and Quiet, Again a real Rugby league person.

Totally agree about the lack of biff in the game because it has gone soft, now it's shirt grabbing, niggling because players can't stand tow to tow. Fight's in the game is in a controlled environment. Unlike fight's at a pub or out on the streets where fight's can be fueled by alcohol or drugs where ppl just bash each other until the other is out cold and or weapons could be used as well.
@Sonny-an-Stevo4 жыл бұрын
So true When the biff was lost to the game So was respect The thing about fighting on field was if it was dirty or a king hit you got penalised and suspended If it was because of foul play against you or your team and a fair fight it was sorted out on the field I’d rather fighting in the game than wrestling and maiming players intentionally or Leg pulling, neck twisting, chicken wings, grapple Tackles, cannonballs or High shots ect. Look at the stuff Melbourne have introduced to the game since fighting was banned and players have no way of protecting themselves and have to rely on the ref seeing it or they lay down until the video ref sees it If fighting was still allowed it would stop all the rot like when Paul Gallen hit Nate Myles in origin for their continuous foul play

The most rumoured ( and probably closest to the truth ) reason Tommy left Wests was because the people running the club screwed him out of an end-of-season prize of a brand new car. West's supporters were asked to participate in voting for their favourite Magpie's player and Tommy was at unbackable odds to win it. The administrators were rumoured to have rigged the voting in favour of a virtual unknown, because they feared that if Tommy won it, he would have a lot of ammunition to use to ask for more money. Somehow Tommy found out that he had been screwed over, so when John Singleton waved that brown paper bag at him, Tommy snatched the rent and went to Newtown.
