When i had first staretd i felt the former constantly. My guitar teacher made me feel so untalanted. I can assure you, no matter who you are, there's no doubt you can do what this fellow is doing. I can assure you of that without even knowing who you are, how old you are or how much you know about ,msuic/guitar. It just takes time and practise man. I believe strongly there is very little 'gift' involved - it's all just persistence. Innate talent is a bit of a cop out i believe. YOU EARN THAT TALENT THROUGH HARD WORK!! I didn't even pick up guitar until later in my life as I always played piano but I could almost approach what this guy was doing in

While tommy emmanuel is probably one of the best guitarist in the world, if not THE best, you'd be suprised at how little separates a good musician from a GREAT one.... It's little things, things that are hard to point out but add up to more than the sum of their parts. Getting to be a good musician and approximating what he's doing is easier than you'd think but going that little bit extra with it - THAT is really tough.

Jack Pullen I just saw him up close at a guitar master class a couple of days ago, and he emphasized that exact point. "Take the first bar, and play that slowly about a hundred times. Then do the same with the second bar. Now combine those two and play the two about a hundred times. Next, add the third bar..." Get to the place where you don't think at all about your hands, and then it starts to become music.
