Something tells me you'll love Beyond This Life. No spoilers but it will put that intrigue you were referring to, to rest.

This album is absurdly good. Best work from DT IMO. Good choice to react to it from top to bottom. I remember when I first heard it I was completely blown away by the music and completely lost about the story lol

Feel free to get lost in the story, but promise us that once you finish it you'll give another listen to the whole album because you'll see it differently and pick up on things that'll blow your mind! 🤯

Jayzis Chrysler... You're getting into it. If these videos get good watch time and all... And you enjoy listening to concept albums... You might just have to do Ayreon and The Human Equation next. Picked that one, because it would be a bit of a natural transition. LaBrie sings the main character on that one as well.

I will continue to abide by your request of "no spoilers," but I will state that you're getting VERY warm with your conjectures! I've had the pleasure to see this entire album performed twice...once in support of its release, and again decades later to commemorate that same release...two of the greatest shows I've ever seen. My only concern with this reaction is that you will be listening to Part One LAST...the rest of us got to hear them in chronological order, and because of this we were able to enjoy all of the musical and lyric reprises that appear in this album. Hopefully, you will notice them when you listen to Part One, at least a little...you might be surprised to find how familiar Part One seems after listening to this album. One last comment: The complete name of Part One is "Metropolis Part One: The Miracle and the Sleeper." You'll find out why as you continue this journey. God bless!

I was fortunate enough to see this performed twice live and their ability to play such technical pieces with precision and passion is unmatched. Probably the most talent ever assembled in to one group. Having seen it, I still find it hard to believe.

I've also seen it performed twice...simply epic!

The human equation, an Ayreon album, is also an album about a psychological theme. See Wikipedia for details; too much to type out here. There’s a theatrical show made of this album; with James Labrie. The dvd is called the theatrical equation.

Hello. You're on the right way! Are you notice during the solo on fatal tragedy the main riff theme is repeting 4 times, 3 Times,2 Times , 1 Times, 2 Times, 3 Times, 4 times. Decreased and increased structure. Architects of music👍

Right on.... you’re getting it..... you need to react to Queensryche’s Operation Mindcrime album... it is the best concept album ever written....

I am loving your trying to work it all out. If it helps I know people who didn't fully get it until they saw the tour! I will give nothing away but it gets even more fun. Some of the musical passages to come will blow your socks off 😁. Can't wait to watch tomorrow night's reaction!

Fatal Tragedy was the first song that I really liked from DT. And it's quite "easy" to play.

One of the toughest songs I've learnt on guitar note for note as the solo is insane to play clean and up to speed!

Damn! I commented on the past video and ill do it again: do some scenes live! Theres a brand new Fatal Tragedy live version on Dream Theater channel (the mix is gorgeous!), the song is already here in this video, but check it out! Anyway, do the dance of eternity and finally free live!

I’d love to check them out and I will, but I think for the DT week I’m gonna stick to the video I’m on just to make sure I’m getting the same experience each night. I’d hate to miss something because I was distracted by something else.

@@ThomasJ_Music Got it! This is a very special band technically. Really worth to see some live performances... Write on your note too: Illumination Theory live. They did with an orchestra and it was awesome! Thank u! Love your channel.

You look a touch tired amigo. Recuperate, get some vitamin-D to strengthen your immune system. Stay on the better side of healthy. By the way, these couple of DT songs remind me of early Queen. Sadly, the world will remember Queen for "We Are The Champignons" and "Radio Bonkers", but in their early days (first two albums-and-a-half, really, being "Queen I", "Queen II" and "Sheer Heart Attack") they churned-out good to excellent prog rock. Cheerio Tomster.

I’m never going to be able to hear we are the champions in the same way now 😂 Thanks too! My 3 year old loves to wake me up at all hours, so I have to make up for it the nights she’s not here :)
