While the translation is literally correct, I suspect it's old and used to refer to artillery. "Muna" also means an egg, which could likely refer to cannon balls and "Tulta munille" would refer to igniting the gunpowder on an artillery piece.

btw, both lost not just because of winter, but poor planning and logistics. The nazis like napoleon, both fought wars by plundering the places they conquered. This proved to bite the Nazis in the back later into the war as attrition worked against them. The nazis grossly underestimated the amount of equipment, manpower, and supplies needed to the point where they had to use horses for logistics when every army fighting them used cars. This myth of an unstoppable army only being stopped by winter ignores so much more details about how the Nazis screwed up on so many basic fronts due to their underlying incompetance.

From my experiments i can say that putting a maintenance company in your divison is very much worth it. You are defending and taking very little casualties while the Soviets keep dying, and with the maintenance company's equipment capture ability, you actually gain equipment more than you lose, so you can stop producing infantry equipment and artillery. I don't really know what you would want to produce instead, but i think it's a cool tactic.

I think the main problem why HOI4 (and other paradox games) achievements feel so bad, is because they depend so much on what the AI does and how the game goes. Sometimes strange alliances and hugboxes force a restart, or a random country declares war on you, or they take the wrong focus or so many other things completely outside the control of the player.

Finland was one of my first Countries i tried in HOI4. I had no clue how this game works and then a war with the Soviet Union breaked out. Somehow i hold the Line and was able to capture like 4 Provinces (wich i was pretty happy about). after like...2 (?) ingame Years Germany finally declared War on the USSR and it was the Glorious Time of Finland to Strike back. I was so Happy that i could beat the USSR as Finland in one of my first games

I really *really* wish Tommy would do a Kaiserreich Left KMT run. It is the hardest campaign I have ever played in HoI (excluding some hardcore overhaul mods) without being bullshit at all. Very rewarding. You have to start as The League of the 8 Provinces in China and switch to the rebellion in mid-feburary. You start with like 10 land tiles and 8 trash divisions, your goal is to overrun China ASAP and fend off Japan, sounds much easier than it is...

Tulta munille means "fire at there balls". It was trained so the recoil would make it so they hit center mass and take out the soviet, in chances one or two to who tries to save there friend.
