Thank you Tommy for the boxing vid. I agree with the old style bare knuckle boxing over today’s styles. Really liked you mentioning the leverage block I feel it’s the only block that really works in real self defense. Much thanks again, see you in the next vid. I enjoy Bartitsu

Man I’m digging the channel. I’d love for you to cover hand injuries and how the guys would toughen their hands back in the prizefighting days. Cause it always blew my mind how long some of those bare knuckle boxers careers were considering. They probably couldn’t play piano to say the least.

Okinawan Karate and Shaolin Kung Fu have great hand conditioning methods. We need toughen our hands to prevent injuring them.

My grandad boxed in the 40s. And talked endlessly of boxing booths. Youngsters he said dont know ya born, everyone carried dusters, even in rural Shropshire

I'm liking your material, there is another channel that goes into the in depth history of western pugilism pre Marquis of Queensbury, and he explains that grappling and takedowns were allowed in competition fighting aswell as sword fighting. Which probably explains the fencing like footwork when fighting open hands. Coming from a Wing Chun background I can see why older pugilism had the Supination of the elbows, when punching, because the elbows are more connected to the core and centre of gravity, which as you know are important for balance when pressure is involved. The moment your elbow is flailing out, you can capture the elbow and uproot your opponent. I love the Fairburn Sykes video you did on gutter fighting. Really good delivery on the system 😊🙏

@@TommyMooreww2combatives yea defo, because there's a difference between verbally sharing what a manual says, and actually demonstrating on BOB the differences in striking between eras

@@TommyMooreww2combatives well I meant taking all the different “martial arts” that you have learned and do video(s) on how they can be used together in a self defense situation. For example how Defendu, boxing, 52 blocks, etc can be used in concert with one another in an altercation. Just a suggestion hope I didn’t over step my bounds, it’s your channel.
