Good observation. Even if the base is covered with the matress, the sharp corners of the legs could hurt. I don't like rounded leg sections so rectangular sections with a good bevel would be fine. With no head board or footboard, the four corners could have small ball topped posts. To prevent gouging your shins/ legs at the corners. Otherwise this bed makes the place look roomier. It would be nice to have the legs clear the floor by at least 10 inches to allow easy cleaning under the bed. Prefer beds without storage or sofa cum beds to keep cool!

I really find this type of wood work fascinating. I've watched a video before that it's part of the Japanese culture to connect wooden furniture by just making everything fit with each other. Though you used some screws for the frame, it's just nice that you still incorporated this. ❤️

I'm not really a big fan of minimalism however I adore when people create their own things instead of buying, it think it's such a better experience when people create, for example I made my curtains out of sticks from my local forest and an old dress that was going to be thrown out and u feel a connection to those pieces you create and much more rewarding .good job!!!:)

Excellent design, very nice looking bed. If you don’t like that extra piece on the end cap board you could make the bed have chamfered corners. Cut the corner of the side board at an angle you like and follow through the end cap. Then mirror on the other corner.

minimalist , but it takes a lot of space and unused space. you could make a folded bed or , give it more options especially for japan standard , in a tiny room , you could mix a bed with a type of closet underneath.

Nice, clean design. Cedar is good choice. Note: We have a platform tatami bed, and after many unpleasant encounters with the platform's sharp corners, we wish we had ordered a version with rounded corners.

すっごく素敵なベッドですね！ 間接照明を置かれるとそれだけでリラックスできる雰囲気になって驚きました。 掃除がしやすいのも、手作りならではの嬉しいポイントですね！うちのベッドはフレームが低すぎてその都度動かさないと掃除できません、、、 設計図から描くような職人技はできませんが、こうゆう風に作るんだなと勉強になりました。
