Hello Cory. This video series means a lot to me. When I was young I lived in poverty and family, friends and neighbors also helped me create my first home. People like you and your husband are precious.. ❤

Opposing opinions can be given in a respectful, tasteful manner. Some however have a negative vibe to them and are totally unnecessary. Cory, I think you and your family did an amazing job! Every one contributed in their own way & those contributions came from the heart! That is what family is all about! You all are truly lucky and blessed!💕

I couldn't agree more! It is always so hard to understand how people can be so mean, especially on the internet. And for no reason at all. Thank you!!!
@furniturerevivalist98122 ай бұрын
Bear in mind that when one asks for an opinion, one cannot complain if one gets it. If you did not want negative feedback, then you should not have asked for feedback. To only ask for positive feedback seems very much like an ego trip. I can appreciate the spirit in which you gave your time and energy to help people that are dear to you. I can also appreciate and admire the upcycling of furniture and decor. I can also understand that whatever you have done was done taking into account the family's personal style and needs. Having said that, you can also understand that the end result is not to everyone's taste. When you post on a public forum you open yourself up to negative and even rude, harsh comments. It goes with the territory. When you are confident in your work and in yourself, like it seems you are, it does not matter whether people you do not know or care for, like your work or not. Some content cteators actually welcome rude, harsh comments, because it creates a buzz and a lot of views of their channel and that in turn leads to more comments. This impacts the algorithm and drives more traffic to their channel and directly increases ad revenue. So not is not all bad. As content creator you surely know this.
@DesertDIY2 ай бұрын
This video is getting a lot of attention so I will take a minute to explain my stance on the rude comments. I am not on the bandwagon of "any attention is good attention". I also don't agree with the whole "well you put it on the internet so its okay for people to be mean to you about it" idea. That is ridiculous thinking. We need to do better. What adults do on the internet sets the tone for our children's generation. I choose to believe that how you would act in person is how you should act online. While I am working on my projects in my driveway, people don't walk up to me and say "you ruined that! That looks horrible! You have no idea what you're doing. You couldn't pay me enough to put that in my house"...Because it would be crazy to do that/say that to someone. If I asked someone, "what do you think of this project" in person, if they didn't like it they would let me know in a respectful way. Not condescending or intentionally hurtful. I have absolutely no problem with people letting me know that something I did wasn't their style or giving feedback that is actually helpful. I have tons of comments on each video and many of them tell me honestly that they didn't really like something and that is totally ok. In fact, it helps me to make better content if I see that there were several people who didn't like something I did. I ask my viewers for their opinions as friends. All I expect, is for the feedback to be respectful as if we were talking in person. Yes, this is my job and having engagement is good for the algorithm, but I work hard to make sure this is a place for creative people to come and communicate with each other and share ideas in a friendly way. We have enough negativity in this world, and I won't let my channel be just another place where people have to see someone being cruel online. If that means I get less engagement, so be it. Thankfully, its very rare now for me to get the crazies commenting on here. So when you guys see people leaving mean comments- report them, and let me know so I can block them. We don't want jerks here. There is a difference between giving feedback and insulting someone. Its not rocket science haha! Thank you all very much for being here and for having made my channel a really positive, caring place for creative folks to hang out. I have seen many friendships grow from here and I hope to see many more. We all have it in us to be kind to each other (and you don't have to agree with someone in order to be kind).

Just would like to share to help with some rules of thumb in interior design. Especially bc you create some gorgeous redos. When installing rods for window treatments. A rule is mount the rods at least 3 inches above the window, 3 inches wider also on both sides of the width of the window. Plus if you want to make a room appear to be larger mount the rods above the window as high to the ceiling without the top of the window treatment hitting the ceiling.
@jennynevins63292 ай бұрын
Agreed.
@furniturerevivalist98122 ай бұрын
This will not work as the curtains were not custom made for the windows. If the curtain rods were mounted higher, the curtain length would be too short. So as a general rule of thumb, yes. When you work with thrifted items you are limited by what you have.

WOW and WOW!! It came together so beautifully 💛🧡🤎. I can only imagine the joy, gratitude and love that Manny's sister and family felt and I bet there were some tears of joy all around. I remember my first apartment back in 1980, that my mother-in-law helped me furnish with garage sale items and second hand. We were so very grateful and so very proud. I still love to furnish my home with garage sale items thrift store items and marketplace items also I love to shop for clothes that way too. Even if I could afford to buy new I would rather go secondhand The thrill of the hunt and also the sustainability of it.
