Thank you for the value brother. Principle #2 is so true. A lot of wealthy creators (Iman Ghadzi, Jordan Welch, Ruri ect) have started new KZbin channels from 0 because they made this mistake, and their audience doesn't give a fuck about them anymore. I didn't understand this principle for years, but now I get it. As soon as I started implementing it, my business changed 🤝

Number ONE mistake people make is creating content for people just like them, not for people who consume the content that the creator wants to make. I worded that badly so here's an example, game developers who make videos too technical when they are actually trying to sell their game. Or artist channels who don't make it entertaining enough, there's many many examples. Let's say you're a programmer selling a product or service. You don't want to make technical videos about programming. Your target audience is the people that would use your product or service.

The problem with trying to appear perfect and like an authority figure is the people who expect perfection will always find something to criticize about you. Those are the people who watch 2 minutes of your video and downvote and leave a nasty comment. They are hard to please because they hate themselves and have no intention to learn anything from anyone. You won't ever sell anything to those people because they never invest in anything. By intentionally being imperfect, not only do you attract an audience of buyers who find your imperfections relatable, but you also filter out the kind of people who hurt your metrics with their short attention span, negative comments and downvotes.

Here's a question for anyone of you who'd like to answer. As someone who's building an agency and works mainly in the b2b space. What's your opinion on content creation? I feel like clients really don't care about content all that much and would rather see results. But I feel like certainly in my area (Belgium) a lot of agency's tend to make the same style of content. How would you handle making content for buyers in that space and not just to create an audience?

Going to be the only to play the Devils advocate here and say your strategy on building a product first is REALLY BAD advise. This will unfortunately lead to people spending blood sweat and tears in creating a product that nobody actually wants. In fact, your own story illustrates this perfectly: this isn't because you focussed on followers, its because you didn't create the right product. Besides that, KZbin has reached a point where genuine / honest content performs a lot better than grifters selling a Product. Just open your feed and look at the smaller channels right next to the ones getting 100K. It still works, but people see through that shit and don't want to watch Ads for their products. Alex Hormozi says it much better. Give away value for free, build trust, listen to what they want and then fulfil that demand. >17k/mo Skool community owner
