Should check out some youtube videos of some very old Judo teachers. They show you how to control your opponent's center of gravity. By manipulating your opponent's center of gravity you can do whatever you want.

This is great. I usually pull guard foot on the hip into a tripod sweep but see no reason I couldn’t try this instead, if it fails it’s just guard again.
@dylan_krishna_7772 жыл бұрын
True man if it fails your not in a bad position (guard) i did this trow against my brother and he thought i was pulling guard but he went flying. This trow and drop seoi nage are great trows even for BJJ players that understand a little of judo techniques 🙏

Sorry I didnt't understand in wich position/reason you would prefer to do tomo nage 3 vs classic tomoe nage ? today I suceed your tomoe nage vs bjj stence in your previous one ! thanks for your videos,
@Shigashi845 жыл бұрын
In RvR, both Tomoe classic and 3 use the same leg. They can both be used together. You can switch to the other one in the air too. I am glad you were able to hit it in class!

Interesting, I am practicing the classical Tomeo Nage for green belt test and noted that you don´t put the foot of the supporting leg on the mat, is this for getting lower faster in shiai or randori ? Also I get the roll the shoulder thing but do you have another video where you explain it more? Thank´s, very nice videos all these days.
@Shigashi845 жыл бұрын
If the opponent reacts in the air and starts shifting their weight around, you need that other foot to stabilize and guide them over. That is why. Will do a shoulder roll video for you soon.

you are using the the collar grip high on the collar grip . how do i take all the slack out the sleeve and collar so he rotates? I want to make sure he moves and not just the Gi?
@Shigashi845 жыл бұрын
The sleeve hand has to be tight before you you go into it. You squeeze a lot of material so it is tight on their arm.

was my favourite takedown until I did it on a much larger opponent nearly snapped my knee, didnt keep tight enough, his hips weren't bent he was too upright, he fell right into my guard instead with my foot trapped on his hip, twisted the fuck outta my leg.
@dylan_krishna_7772 жыл бұрын
That's bad man but from fails and injuries you learn. Against bigger and heavier opponent hip trows/sweeps are less risk of injuries then trows where you take much of your shoulder, lower back and knees.

I did this by accident in BJJ class week, except I grabbed both of my opponent's lapels, planted my foot slightly above his belt and simply rolled to my back. The big dude went FLYING over my head and when he landed, I was in position to come down into mount instantly. I don't know anything about Judo, did I do some version of tomoe nage on accident? And when I say "big dude", this guy was 6'5" and 370+ lbs. And it was effortless, I was shocked at how natural it felt.
@Sidraughen Жыл бұрын
It is indeed a very weird effortless feeling when you pull it off. But it's also kind of a high risk high reward move. If your opponent realizes what you are trying to do then you are on your back on the mat and he has the upper hand.
