Tomos A35 Restoration

With a few cans of spray paint and some new parts, I brought this Tomos moped back to life! I got it a year ago to drive to school and fell in love with it. The engine was in need of some basic service and ran perfectly ever since. This is why I neglected the engine for a full rebuild and focused on the appearance of the bike. Hope you enjoyed!

Lekker filmpje, geen gezeur of muziek gewoon praktisch. Thanks voor de inspiratie qua kleuren. Heb pas een tomos die niet werkte van iemand gekregen en werkend gekregen door een motorrevisie en de verlichting weer werkend gekregen. Volgende stap is binnenkort frame ontroesten en opnieuw spuiten. Ik denk dat dit hem wordt qua kleuren😂, ziet er mooi uit.

What lube did you used for the bearings?

Atf transmission oil for the transmission bearings. 2 stroke oil for the crank bearings and all the other ones just regular bearing grease.

@@Tomology just finished preparing my flexer, having some problems with the ralenti.. if the mofa is cold, it will get off if i dont throttle. Anyways, getting 30-35kmh max... anyway of speeding it up without spending much cash? i really love my mofa but 10kmh more would be sooo appreciated

@@K405X I assume you mean 'idle' with 'ralenti'? If that is the case there is an idle screw on the right side of the carb next to the choke lever. I don't know what is already on your moped, but changing the gear ratio is the easiest and cheapest, but it will accelerate slower. Changing the ignition timing and adding a 'performance' exhaust will help too.

@@K405X remove the flywheel and turn the ignition base. there are two indicator stripes the top one is top dead center timing.

Thanks! Het is gedaan tijdens een weekje vakantie. De tomos kostte €200 destijds en alle onderdelen nog eens €200.

How did you clean the inside of the gas tank?? vinegar and water or something more asidic?

well if you put water in it even more rust will occur. I tried it once with white vinegar (just the supermarket stuff) but haven't had much succes. It does clean up a little bit of rust but it bites away the protection layer too. There are tank cleaning kits out there but they are rather expensive and I haven't tested those

Youre suppose to use paint stripper, not a angle grinder to remove the old paint...

the angle grinder is used to remove rust. paint was sanded away with regular sandpaper

ik heb destijds 200 euro voor de tomos betaald en zon 200 euro aan onderdelen gekocht. ze worden wel steeds duurder in nl dus reken maar zeker van zon 500. ik heb zelf alleen het nodige vervangen en vrij goedkope verf gebruikt. je kunt het zelf zo duur maken als je wil ;)

altijd ff de oude pakking wegschrapen voor je een nieuwe erop doet anders kan die gaan lekker, en als je iets meer vermogen wilt kan je die bus in het spruitstuk eruit trekken of uitboren.

heb later gespeeld met het blokje, ging me op dat moment om het uiterlijk. carb was destijds ook maar 9mm dus busje uit spruitstuk halen had niet heel veel zin
