Tomorrow's World theme

Recreation of the 1987 Tomorrow's World theme tune. I created this in Cubase in August 2015 and used the HALionOne, Groove Agent One, FM7 Xpress and EZdrummer VST instruments for the sounds. The theme was composed by Paul Hart. This version was created by Oliver Sacker.

Not many recreations get the hair on the back of my neck to stand up but this did, brings back so many good memories of watching this on BBC1 back in the day. Great version.

Stumbled upon this whilst having a nostalgic moment and have to say, wow what a great job you did of this! I absolutely loved this theme and reminds me of being a kid staying up to watch Tomorrows World. Now I get to hear it in crystal clarity - truly great reproduction! Thank you.

This was always my favourite TW theme. Not sure this is quite as good as the version I did in OctaMED on my Amiga in 1993 though ;)

How many years did this theme last for? I can't remember it very well.

It was used from 1986 to 1991.

I can understand why they replaced the previous version which was very early 80s although it's my personal favourite.

The earlier version was by the BBC Radiophonic workshop whereas by winter 1985 , the BBC had started using more freelance composers and Joe & Co had done lots of advertising jingles for TV and most recently the well received theme for Food & Drink. Joe and Co was(is) Paul Hart and Joe Campbell. They were also 'Heads' who produced the rearrangement of Helmut Zacharius's Olympic theme to become Aztec Lightning - the 1986 BBC World Cup theme.

I noticed you replaced the horn with a trumpet for the repeat opening phrases? or is it my ears

Thanks for commenting. In my recreation, the trumpet appears as the top line throughout. I have the trumpet line an octave down for 'Verse Two' and it is joined by the horns at that point.
