The King is normally the 1st born son and this is a totally random process so in a way they are right, God does pick the King. I think this type of leadership selection might actually be better than our current system which selects the person who is best at lying to the public.

Brian Plank- This is why most monarchies had a separation of powers in case somebody crazy became king. I think the power most Kings had was greatly exaggerated, they were often fighting with their own nobles and struggling to raise money. The average person paid about 1% tax in America under King George, modern-day Presidents are able to tax people much higher without making people angry so in a way they are more powerful than Kings.

It's so sad to me that people don't see what a great concept liberty defines. There is no better system than what you live under yet you tout what a better system a monarchy provides vs your divine right to choose who you believe is best for the job. All while watching the miracle of youtube that was created because of that liberty. You want a king GTFO and serve one. I will have my liberty and rights that were given to me by no man.

Historical kings seem to think their ego is king. Once a human surrenders their ego to a loving higher power they realize they are one with the world. Once you realize this you can do no harm because your heart and nervous system becomes filled with love...If you feel separate and your heart is not filled with constant streaming love then you are not aligned with god/or a state of higher consciousness. You are only in a state of higher consciousness where love then dissolves your feeling of separation between you and other "people." This is the ultimate meaning behind the bible and the teachings of Jesus. Simple right?

James VI & I was not brought up to believe in the Divine Right of Kings. As King of Scots he was monarch of a country that, throughout it's history, believed that the King was on a par with his people and was the "first among equals." Scots did not bow or curtsy to their monarch who was accessible to his people and they could approach him and a have a man to man conversation with him. Scots believed that the monarch ruled by the will of the people and if he didn't do his job properly then the people could remove him and replace him with another member of the royal house, and this is enshrined in the Declaration of Arbroath. James obviously had delusions of grandeur that didn't sit well with the Scots people.

I don't google Charles II (I would find many from many dif countries and eras) but chances are, he already knew that some parts of the Bible were wrong. Like no Sun until the 4th day, c'mon. the 4th day is the 4th time the same area on Earth turns towards the... if this is not valid for Charles II (again, idk which Charles II you have in mind), it is for sure valid for many many monarchs in a more scientific period like Louis XV, f.e.

Their is no “divine right” of kings. It’s a made up construct, authored by the Elohim that claimed to be creators of mankind. Ostensibly, the “royals” (which means ‘ruler,’ as in cane) had more of the god’s blood in them. This is why royals interbreed - to keep the bloodline untainted. The Elohim were physical beings, not “gods”, and certainly not heavenly. Unless you believe heaven exists in outer space. “Author-ity” is a fabrication. It’s an invention. That’s literally the etymology of “authority”: ‘to invent; to author.’ PS: the historical lines of human royalty come from Sumeria and the Sumerian tablets.

I normally wouldn’t respond to people that sound this insane but I will this time. “Royal blood” isn’t a real thing since noble lines began from people who achieved some great feat and so they were named king by their people, thus created some noble line. The idea of divine right really is about how certain Kings and dynasties are favored by god to triumph over Kings.
